I want to relocate my family outside of the USA. I do not want to escape the mostly wonderful people of this country and I do not wish to leave MY country, but I see no other way to live in peace but to move as far away from this insane government as possible.

I would like to move to a tropical area, but that is not mandatory. Really, any place that is not involved in conflict or motivated by money. Does such a place exist?

I just want to raise my family in peace. We do not need hardwood floors in our house, nor do we need to keep our Yukon XL-SLT. All we need is a peaceful place to co-exist with everyone else.

Again, does such a place exist? And if it doesn't, are we supposed to just go on a government initiated killing spree with the rest of those who follow Bush's lead?

Regarding destinations, I would never consider any European countries.

I was thinking of touring Scandinavia as I have got really in to the history of the region after studying at University- but I know next to nothing about the area! I'd be grateful if someone could fill me in on a few things...

1. How are us Brits recieved?
2. Is it really all snow and evergreen forests outside of the towns?
3. General overview of the people (hard I know)- I always had the impression that Scandinavians were quite aloof (not meaning to offend) and had no time for us British plebians...kind of like Dolph Lundgren in Rocky 4.
4. What is the national sport/ pastime/ hobby?

Any info very welcome (Sweden-specific would be great!)

Thanks!

I'm new to the whole moving experience...(yikes!). Yeah. How can I properly research an area in order to make an informed decision? What kinds of questions should I be asking about communities I'm considering for relocation?

I am looking for a short 3-5 day stay. I understand mostly that it is an expensive place to visit because of the cost of living; however, I was wondering if it would be cheaper to fly into Baltimore and get a motel there or any other place. I am just from a low cost of living area and for me this would be an expensive trip. Any help would be great!!!

Thinking of a career change, am in my late 30's, born and raised on the East Coast of the U.S. and have a M.A. degree in Counseling. Will these demographics be in demand as an English teacher in Japan? Any information you could provide me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm a single 45-year old American male (straight!!!) going to Bali for a weekend in March. Much of what I read is about female tourists (mainly Australian) getting hit on by local boys.

I'm staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. Will there be many female tourists in March, and is there any point in having any expectations of meeting any nice women (other than the locals)?
