I hope you're kidding, "cheap motel, close to the strip, for the NASCAR race in March" -

NASCAR = Like Las Vegas needed another excuse to raise rates a $100 a night. Wish I had better news for you, but, the rates for that weekend are very ugly.

Best I could find - $-avg per night for 3 nights
Knights Inn McCarran - $120
Circus Circus - $181
Sahara - $188
Tropicana - $189
Frontier - $212 1br suite
Imperial Palace - $195
Riviera - $198
Flamingo - $240
Bally's - $249

All the above rates came from
http://www.i4vegas.com

http://www.travelworm - usually beats i4vegas by a few dollars a night, but their site was down when I tried to check for you.TW is my favorite site to check for LV hotel rates.

you might give these a try -
http://www.tripres.com
http://www.vegas.com

I'm not really all that particular when it comes to LV hotels. Of course I prefer good value, but, 4 of those hotels I would not want to stay at - for various reasons - Circus Circus, Sahara, Imperial Palace and Tropicana.

I remember comparing motel prices and lower-priced hotels, and they're about the same, so you might as well try a cheap hotel. I would recommend the Casino Royale, which is small, cheap, and right in the middle of the Strip. Otherwise, I know there are Motel 6 and Super 8 motels nearby, so try motel6.com or super8.com to check for addresses and rates.

i'm a Treasure Island fan. I even have stayed there a pair cases and have by no potential had a issue. team is friendly and robust. sellers relatively have some character and robust. MGM is likewise very superb. Stayed as quickly as and might stay lower back. i might keep away from Casers Palace. Stayed there for 4 nights and had issues each and every day. when I complained they offered me an entire $30 in hotel credit.

The boardwalk isn't open anymore. It really depends on how nice a place you want to stay at. Expect prices to be higher for that weekend. You can check out this site and it will give you the best online prices:
