I am possibly moving in january when my husband is eligible for tranfer from sacramento, ca to the oregon area. i would like to know weather, housing, good or bad neighborhood, school, overall is it a nice town to raise a family...? we are considering the salem/portland area but havent taken a trip yet so i am at ends with leaving a town i know all about, any help would be great.

I'm going on a cruise with a friend next spring to Mexico. I've had conflicting answers on whether a passport is required, and my local passport office can't (or won't) help- they just say all they do is bundle the forms and mail them off (and their chunk of the $100 fee is $30!). I went to a government website, but it just talked about contraband and air travel. Does anyone know? I really don't need to spend the $100 if it's not necessary. Also, someone said that you need to have either a doctor or lawyer who's known you for at least 2 years sign off verifying your application. I have neither a doctor or a lawyer, so is this true?

I am going to meet my boyfriend's parents for the first time in Memphis. I need to know tips and things to remember. I know that people from the south are very respectful and big on the yes ma'am no ma'am and yes sir no sir. Anything else that I need heads up on? My boyfriend is very respectful and that says alot about his family even though I have not met them yet. He visited me a few times and was shocked by the lifestyle in San Fransico. Please tell me everything I need to know and need to remember.
