i want to go to fortlauderdale, or miami, but am on a budget. everyone suggests off peak season but when is that exactaly?

If you want to avoid Peak Season (which is normally summer, spring break and christmas times) I'd suggest November (the week before thanksgiving is always good for CHEAP airfare) and late august if you prefer summer to go.

Rates are higher after Nov 15th and come down after Easter. Once in a while you can find a deal on line but that is the way the on & off season rates go. The main thing that changes are hotel/motel rates. Everything else is the same.
