You need to gamble in order to get comped anything...the more you gamble the more of a comp you'll get..but don't expect them to come and tell you...you'll have to ask. Best way to do it is to sign up for one of the casino's player cards (most all have one) so they can see exactly how much you are gambling.

Comp system is based on player loyalty...You need to earn it before you receive it. The more you gamble the more comp points you receive. Comp points equal free stuff. Casino hotels are not in the business of handing out free rooms based on kindness alone. They are in the business of making money not loosing it. I've been to Vegas numerous times and have received room comp once. I was part of a bachelor party group of 15 at New York New York. We were assigned a concierge and he upgraded the grooms room to a premiere suit. The flip side, they asked us to use there hotel next time we planned another bachelor party.
If you're a whale and have hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend at the tables than you will receive all that free stuff you have heard about otherwise do what the rest of us do and find the best deal possible.

Hotel rooms are comped to people who gamble a certain amount of money. The easiest way to get rated as a "high roller" is to go play at a high stakes black jack table. $100 a hand is good. Go to the pit boss and tell him you want to be rated. Do this during a busy time. He will watch you for a little while. Play as few hands as possible. When you've been there for about 1 hour go back to the pit boss and viola... you're rated. As a player who plays $100 black jack, you should be able to get comped just by calling ahead. Good Luck.

You have to gamble in the casinos. Often even minor gamblers will be offered comp rooms (with select dates from the casinos). Also if you don't want to spend a lot nickle or penny slots may help you get a comp room because they see that you are playing a lot and offer it to you. The problem with comp rooms is that they tell you when you can use them for the most part.

When you get to a casino, sign in at the desk. They will monitor your play and give you comps as you earn them.
