ok so i need to be there 12/28/06 - 01/04/06 and i cant spend more than $1,200. transportation is all taken care of & everything else. so anyone know how or where to stay in manhattan (close to times square, ill be walking everywhere with my friend) any help is more appreciated then you know, thanks!!!!!!

I live in San Diego, CA and have been hesitant to use the heating system or a space heater because of the rise in my utility bill (just graduated college). Although the temperature is about 60 in the day, it gets into the 40s at night and in the early morning. At this rate I figure I am going to have to give in our get pneumonia. What do most people in Southern California do in the winter? Freeze to death, run up high utility bills or... ?

Back home in Massachusetts there was no question, you use the heat, but even in the dead of winter you would never let your house temperature get as cold as it gets here.

Are either Novaya Zemlya or the Frans Josef islands visitable? Like Svalbard. Do they actually have cities, and hotels, etc. I've been doing some research, and the Frans Josef islands are the only ones that are showing possible evidence of being visistable.

So are they? Do they have any tourist sites? Maybe through Russia's touism?

I plan to travel to Prague for a short break in January with my husband. I am a holder of a full British passport but my husband has a non-british passport with 'indefinite leave to remain in the UK' based on our marriage.
I wanted to know if he'll need a visa if he travels with me?
And if he does need one how long will it take to apply for one and obtain one?

Why Westerners never use the right term of Jerusalem? They say always Jerusalem instead "occupaid Jerusalem". Do they not agree with Jerusalem being occupaid? Don't they know or don't they care?

I'm planning to go to Brazil for 11 days in May. I was wondering if any one can help me with the following.

-any hotel recommendations for Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Iguassu falls. Something nice, yet affordable.
