New York for a couple of days and then to Dallas for about 10 days. It is impossible to find anything on internet. Does anyone know a good site that can cope with more than one destination? Also is it better to do return to Dallas with a stop over in New York?

It depends on where you are flying from. Both NY (LGA) and Dallas (DFW) are good hubs so I would try your options both going to Dallas first or New York first and see what comes up. Traveling on a Tuesday is cheaper and avoiding holidays. If this is for the holidays, it may be expensive either way. Most travel sites offer a link for Multiple Destinations. There is travelocity.com, lowestfares.com, and cheaptickets.com

Where they ask you if you are flying One Way or Roundtrip, you should find the link that says Multiple destinations.

Go to your friendly travel agent and get them to punch in the locations and dates for travel. get a quote then use the same information to check online for yourself.
Internal transfers are so much cheaper in the USA, I would have thought the cheapest deal was a flight to NY return and transfer at your own leisure within those dates.

Try using Yahoo! FareChase, they search dozens of websites for you, so you dont have to!!! It saves time and money.
You can also type 'flights to New York' on Yahoo Search, and fill the form that comes up.
