What are the best/fun places to go in Venice, Italy?

Everything in Venice is nice,fun and worthy with a visit.
In yr question you should have specified also how long it will be yr staying over there.Here is a link with a lot of any kind of infos on the works of art in this town:

The food is really good everywhere (prefer fish dishes but also other feeding is very good) just avoid the top restaurants unless you've an unlimited budget (in Venice restaurants and hotels are ugly expensive). About highlights spots I can suggest:
Piazza San Marco (St.Mark's square) with the San Marco basilica and the Campanile,Rialto bridge,Bridge of Sighs, The Accademia Museum,The Doge's palace,the Arsenal, the Giacomo Casanova's house, the Grand Canal (it's a must to take a trip in gondola...!!).If you've still time you should visit Murano island (artistic glasses) and Burano island (pillow laces).
Aside the islands (and obviously the gondola trip) all the other sites can be easily visited by walking since Venice is not so big and best things are located in a rather limited area.
If you need to move farer don't take private taxi-boats (sooooo expensive...!!) but use the public ferries (same as Venetians do).
I feel that's should be enough for abt. 1 week..!

There is loads to do in Venice, although the time of year is not the best. Be prepared for fog, rain and maybe the occasional flooding during high tides.
As for what to do, here is a list;

-Piazza San Marco is a must, along with the main Basilica, tower and Palazzo Ducale (including the Ponte dei Sospiri).
-Rialto Bridge.
-Madonna dell'Orto Church. A Gothic church in an out of the way neighbourhood with few tourists....
-Murano Island. Where all the famous glass is produced. (The ceiling at the Bellagio in Vegas has a 1 million dollar sculpture from here.
-Venice's Ghetto - The oldest ghetto in Europe has five synagogues, a Jewish museum, and a kosher restaurant.
-Telecom Italia Future Centre - It is a 1,000-year-old convent turned into a into a high-tech museum. One must check e-mail and see all the latest gadgets too. ;-)

I also highly suggest you just walk and try to get lost....literally. I did that a few times and discovered a treasure of places and memories.
