I know it's expensive and traffic is horrible. The jobs I'm considering are located in the Dulles VA area. What are some places that I can live that are safe, won't cost a kidney, and near public transportation? Does that place even exist?! All help is appreciated.

I live in Atlanta(hate it) and will be graduating soon. I want to move to either St. Louis or Chicago. I lived in St.Louis when i was younger and parents still live there. Ive been to Chicago once for a day and i liked it. Its hard to get a feel for the city simply by reading about it online and from my one day visit. Whats it like? The type of city it is? Is it dog friendly? Much to do? Too big too small? The people nice, rude, happy? Activites: what type of person does the city cater too?

Can anyone help me make my decision?

What do you think of it, do you like living there?

I'm Welsh, from Newport, and my boyfriend is from Gillingham. We live in Caerphilly, South Wales now but we did try moving to Kent for a while so he could "go home". We lived in Gravesend and I hated it. I was so homesick.

The people were really nice though! I really liked everyone I met down there, they are all so friendly and chatty. To me they all sound like Cockneys but my BF insists he is nothing like one!!!

BF's family live in Sittingbourne now (or "S(h)ittingbourne as his brother calls it).

Best bits about the area? Rochester Castle. Bluewater Shopping Centre (or Bluewa'er" as the locals call it), Chatham Dockyard(Chatham = really Chavvy, just like Newport), Canterbury (very posh and historical) and all the really nice countryside around and about.

And I never met anyone down there who was rude or unpleasant to me about being Welsh either! They all loved my accent, hehe!

Going next year, mainly because husband wants to see locations from Dirty Harry scenes. I cannot find any details on google. We can find many locations, but a tour would be better!

Carry on. My boyfriend wants to bring a book and a magazine. I hear this is not allowed in Europe. Is this allowed in domestic American flights?
1) Magazine or Book
2)Can we bring a purse or backpack?
3) What kind of shoes are they having a problem with?

I've noticed that the last names of many (altho not all) Filipino people sound like they are Mexican and/or Spanish. I've also noticed that many cities/places in the Phillippines sound this way also. Aren't Filipinos considered more "Asian" than anything else? I suppose I could Google all this , but I don't have time, so I thought I would ask here instead. Thanx!
