Unlikely that you'll find somewhere free. Even if you park on the street, most of London is metered (or 'pay and display' as they refer to it here). There should be some car parks in the area but I'm afraid I don't know of any.

With central London, really your best bet is to use public transport if possible. Not only is parking a problem but traffic is a nightmare and the amount of traffic lights is ridiculous (eg just a couple of days ago we drove through central London at 5.30am on a Saturday morning and 11pm Sunday and there was still lots of traffic at both times).

You can park on single yellow lines in Westminster on Sunday (unless it explicitly says otherwise). Best place is around St James Park tube station, which is still very close to the Palace.

there is nowhere to park free even on Sunday mornings .

, leave your car behind and use public transport or a cab

Be warned, they also cost "an arm and a leg!"

Try the front yard - plenty of unused space.
