I will be spending a few nights in the area and I don't want to rent a car because we're drinking, they're expensive and we don't know the area. I don't think the buses or will run as late as we plan to be out. And taxi's look like they are going to be really expensive. Are there any other options for late night travel from downtown LA or Hollywood etc?

If you live in a town that is a popular tourist destination, what, if anything, irritates you when tourist season begins? I live in Williamsburg, VA and for me it's the drivers who obviously don't know where they are going and either drive 10 miles under the speed limit or cut off three lanes of traffic to turn into the outlet malls!

My dad recieved two necklaces from an Indian man he works with, who recently got back from a trip to India. One necklace is a silver sprpent. The other is sort of looks like four daggers one next to the other, but it also looks like a claw. I was wondering if anyone know what either of these mean in India.

I'm thinking of moving there and attending N.Y.U, but some of my friends and family members are trying to discourage me from making my big move to N.Y.C. They seem to think it is "dangerous". I've been to N.Y 3 times in my life and I personally think its fine.

I find that there are cars in Phoenix that would just pull up in front of me and offer me a ride. They also often stop to offer me rides. Do you know why they do that and should you ever accept a ride from them?? Also, is the gang activity really bad here and unsafe to live here and what are the good and bad areas to look out for??

I am from New York, I was traveling on a highway outside of Toronto, Ontario. It was a pay road but there was no toll station, only an odd looking electronic structure situated on the on/off ramps. How do those things process your payment if there's no one around to take your money? Anyone from Toronto area who is familiar with this system?
