look up the white pages section on the internet. Most countries are listed. Google 'white pages' with the name of the country your are searching

Locate an area or country code for the place you are looking for in the phone book and dial 1-(country code)-555-1212. Google the country/location/phone numbers and see what you get.

I would contact them if the texts were threatening or abusive, other than that I'd ignore them. Very creepy though mate ... And yes, they can easily trace phone numbers but if it's pay as you go then it's harder (obviously because they can't trace it back to an account like a contract) but they can do cell siting with mobile phone masts
