Didn't they just meet with Jason Giambi, who admitted that he used steroids???? and what happened to Giambi? NOTHING, he's still playing. I don't even think he was fined or suspended. MLB talks all hard about how they are going to rid the sport of dirty players and steroids, but then these guys keep playing. Ban them for life. WTF, grow some nards. Selig is such a hypocrite.

I recently made a traveling softball team. In addition I am also planning to try out for my high school's softball team. I attended a meeting yesterday where I found out that there are mandatory after-school weight trainings twice a week. The coach (who is also a football coach) stated that he was too easy last year (our team lost in the final game to get to states) and this year he, if we make the team, we will be pushed to our breaking point. This is the kind of coach that I find is better for me.

What are things that I can do, in addition to travel practice and weight practices?? I would like specific exercises.
***What can I do to strengthen muscles?
***What kind of diet should I be on. (Not to lose weight but to stay healthy and have energy)
***What are some tips for nerves?
***How can I keep in shape over the winter?

Thank You

I've always followed baseball (even though not nearly as closed as I've followed football and basketball), but I have two quick questions:

1.) If a hitter smashes a ball to the outfield and the outfielder misses the play; however, the outfielder guns him out at second, what's the ruling on the play? An error?

2.) If there's a baserunner on first. The batter hits a ball towards him and hits the baserunner on the leg while the baserunner is still on the first base bag, is he out or safe?

Thanks!

Why is Griffey excluded from all of this juicing talk? The other day I posted a simple question that asked about his massive weight gain. The answers were quite funny, like, he's just getting older", or " have you seen his dad"? or, "yea, but its not all muscle like Baroid. All I know is that Jr got huge, but, maybe its like some people say, he is just getting older. When I get older, I sure hope to gain a huge chest, shoulders and biceps like him. Honestly, I would not blame Grif for starting, I mean he is by far the best player of our era, but is oveshadowed by juice heads. But please stop saying that he hasnt gained alot of weight, cause the guy got HUGE.

Mark Cuban has shown an interest in buying the Chicago
Cubs. If a man like George Steinbrenner can own the
Yankees, why can't Mark Cuban own the Cubs?
We know that baseball has lost a lot of integrity over the
years(Bud Selig as commisoner!), but i feel Mark Cuban
might be very interesting as a major league baseball owner.

I'm not a big baseball fan so i don't know if this is obvious or not but, what happens if you hit a outside the park home run and when you round the bases you stumble in the middle and get injured and you can't run to home?

Its finally dawned on me how much of aholes these sports writers are these days. Before the 2005 season HGH or human growth hormone was an entirely legal substance in major league baseball and it was used to heal injured players quicker than by just going through re-hab. So now a New York paper goes and releases a story about a Cardinal Outfielder Rick Ankiel right in the middle of a massive Comeback. They are Accusing his comeback of being cloudy by the hgh he took 3 years ago that was prescribed by major league baseball when the truth is 99.9% of all injured players pre 2005 recieved hgh to aid in their medical rehab. it sounds to me that New York is terrified of facing the Lowly midwestern Reigning WORLD CHAMPIONS in the playoffs again hate to see their cinderella story fall again. Well you just cant go throwing out acusations about a guy to knock him off his horse with out any proff that he is currently using the substance . thanks sadened cards fan who thinks this is BS

Although, the MLB seasons are open to post-WWI and begin of Great Depression era since America's economy and banks had none on the money. (this time, the world also have same on that during Great Depression).

The season and playoff are still opening during the Great Depression era. I think that the MLB didn't earns more money during that era as more people don't attended the games or playoff games.

Can u tell me about how does MLB had survived during the Great Depression?

I just read that the Pittsburgh Pirates fired their General Manager Dave Littlefield. Why couldn't they wait until after the regular season? I realize the Pirates haven't had a winning season since 1992 but this type of decision making might be the reason why. Why couldn't they just wait a month to fire him? At this point his firing won't make much difference for the rest of the season.

I am wondering who holds the Major League record for most consecutive losing seasons. It says the Pirates are one season away from the record so who holds the current record?
"The firing came with three weeks left in the season and the Pirates in their customary spot in last place in the NL Central, with a 61-79 record -- three losses away from a 15th consecutive losing season, one off the major league record."
