There are two more spots available in the AL to make it the same number of teams as the NL. Does anyone have information on this? I think good potential MLB cities will be Indianopolis (they are building a massive retractable roof stadium now) and Vancouver, BC (they have BC Stadium). Other cities for mention include Portland and Sacramento.

The Indians are playing the White sox tonight and I have to listen to "the Hawk" and "DJ" root for the...ahem...announce the game. How do you feel about these announcers?

My options are Rodriguez, Verlander, Ordonez, Inge, and Granderson..I won it and these players are my option---I love pudge, but my father says to get Verlander. He thinks I should because Verlander is on the road to be being a great pitcher. I cant decide, some in put would be great -- I love all the tigers(well most of them) :)

The topic has surfaced since Chipper Jones cried about the calls. Should we get rid of the human element and have computers make the calls instead?

Both are great pitchers. Who is your favorite. I love tha attitude that they both bring with them. Tom is very serious, and tries hard and does his job, and Pedro brings such a fun spirt with him and really changes the mood of the whole team.

i truly hope they hire Logan White, assistant GM for the Dodgers. he's the guy who helped them draft Russell Martin, Andre Either, James Loney, Matt Kemp & Chad Billingsley. plus, he was pushing for the Dodgers to draft Clay Buchholz, the kid who just happened to throw a no-no in his second major league start.

that's the type of talent evaluator we need in Houston

I wouldn't disagree with that at all. I have viewed so many of his spectacular catches in centerfield on youtube and espn. In 15 seasons, the Cardinals CF has hit: 1,790 hits, 394 DB's, 360 HR's, 1,111 RBI's and .287 BA. He has won 8 gold gloves in CF and a WS title in 2006. He is 37 now, if he plays another 3 or 4 years, he could wind up with 2,300 hits, 450 HR's and 1,400 RBI's which would put his numbers near Hall of Fame range. Is he in? yes or no?

In MLB, how is a tie for first place between 3 teams handled?

This could happen this season between St. Louis, Chicago, and Milwakee. If two of them play a game and the winner plays the third team, then the third team has an advantage of only having to win one game. How is it chosen who plays against who?

Jason Grimsley was right when he said

Brian Roberts, Jay Gibbons, Miguel Tejeda, Roger Clemens, and Andy Pettitte all used roids/HGH.

Well right for at least the jay gibbons part.

Im starting to believe all 5 used roids.

thoughts?

Now that my Mariners completely colapsed, and fell off the cliff its up to your tigers to knock the Yankees out of the post season. Please tell me that your team will do this. Im sick of NY buying there way into the playoffs every year (of course it is fun watching them lose in the playoffs every year)

GO TIGERS!!!!

Every so often I have to bring up this topic so that we don't forget the outstanding talent that these former ball players possessed. It's clear that the Veterans Committee has failed in a big way by excluding these players from any consideration. Not to mention the current baseball writers association who's members, for the most part, wouldn't know which end of a bat to hold, has not done their job as well. As you look at this list just remember that of the 545 baseball writers who have a vote for the HOF, more than half have not attended a major league baseball game in 10 years. Many have been retired for years and don't even follow the game anymore yet still have a vote! I'm not sure what the answer is to correct the situation but for the moment please give me your take with a yes or no to the following list and why you think they should or should not be in the HOF.

Jim Rice
Dwight Evans
Dave Parker
Rich "Goose" Gossage
Don Mattingly
Alan Trammell
Andre Dawson

Arod has 52 HR 140 RBIs and a 318 batting average!! He has 11 E's on the season!

Does Arod have it in the bag or will it come down to who gets into the playoffs to be the deciding factor??

I think that at this point the argument can be made that the Yankees are the best team in MLB. They have the best offense any team has had for the last decade. You have to agree on that. The offensive numbers are staggering. They have the best bench in the majors and this has been said by major sports analysts. The bullpen is vastly improved from three months ago and the rotation has also come together. I am not saying that the bullpen and rotation are better than anyone else's but with the offense they have it is more then enough. I think that too many people look at the Yanks poor start and are just saying that they got lucky in the second half. Personally, I think that this Yankees team, with the current roster would be able to win at least 105 regular season games. I don't mean this year. I mean like if they had started the year with this roster. Right now they have the best record since the all star break and are pretty much the team nobody wants to face in the post-season.

All right, everyone, I need some serious help. I'm in the playoffs in my 10-team, head to head league, and I have to decide my remaining SPs for this week.
Choices:
Johan Santana (Advantage: He's Johan, playing Tigers at home, who he's good against, esp. this year; good K numbers even if he doesn't get a win. Disadv: Twins are struggling to put up runs consistently; Johann's not as dominating in the 2nd half as he used to be; Tigers really want wins; Twins are experimenting with their players)

Josh Beckett (Advantage: He's on a tear this season, great run support; league-leading team who wants to make their magic number this week. Disadvantage: Playing the Yankees, he's done well, but it's it's Tampa Bay)

Justin Verlander (Adv: Playing Texas at home; good run this year. Disadv: not the strikeout king or as consi
