The Indians are playing the White sox tonight and I have to listen to "the Hawk" and "DJ" root for the...ahem...announce the game. How do you feel about these announcers?

Red, Im a Tribe fan who lives in Chicago, and I have to hear Hawk every single time we play the Sox. This guy, along with Ron Santo, are the biggest homers in all of sports.

"Stretch, stretch! You can put it on the board..... YES!"

And who could forget the infamous "He Gone!"

Hey Hawk, he gone where? Fishin'?

I can really only watch the Tribe when they play on ESPN, because Joe Morgan and John Miller are the great, or when Im back in Cleveland with my family (this weekend, nice!) and theyre on STO. Cant wait. I think you'll live Red, I think youll live.

The question is - where are you that you get the Sox announcing crew? You must not be anywhere near Ohio then.
Listen - almost all cities have announcers who "root" for their team during the game. Don't get me wrong - I hate Hawk and want him replaced. But all you have to do is look at the other side of this town to see the most annoying homer ever to call a game - Ron Santo. He has slipped from adding at least 4 comments worth thinking about to 0 in the course of 2 years. All he does is yell and scream and say stupid things like "I just know we are going to win", just like a little kid. He watches like a fan instead of calling the game.
But back to your question - no. I do not feel sorry for you. I get stuck with these guys every day! You have to put up with it for 3 days at the most. You are the lucky one.

Well, the two announces from ESPN last night were horrible too... they were all for the Angels and then once the Indians started kicking but they changed their minds...
I don't know who the two guys you're talking about are but they can't get any worse than last night!

Take miniscule comfort in knowing that Harrelson is SO BAD that, as he progresses into his inevitable dotage and senility (and yet retains his position), he won't get worse (he cannot possibly do so), and may actually get better, as sometimes he will stop talking.
