Don Mattingly. He's my all-time favorite baseball player. After him would be Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Reggie Jackson and Mariano Rivera.

If I could get a Cal Ripken Jr. autograph from when he played with the Orioles that would be great... That would be one I would hold onto forever passing it on to my kids. Present day players would be Albert Pujols. Another great player on and off the field just like Jeter.

my autographed Mark "The Bird" Fidrych ROY '76 baseball. yea, he only pitched one full season, but he won 19 games that year, pitched 24 complete, started an all star game, came in second for the cy young and sold out every stadium he pitched at. he was a true fan of the game and helped the fans have just as much fun as him. it was common for fans at tiger stadium back in '76 to not even leave the stands after a fidrych game until Bird came out and did a curtain call. his rookie contract only paid him 22,000 dollars and fans were so upset that the guy making so much money for the team wasn't getting his share, fans would send cash money to tiger stadium with Bird's name on it. Bird never kept the money though, he donated it all to charity. thankfully after that year, he went to arbritration and represented himself and got a contract worth several hundred thousand dollars. but sadly, he hurt his knee, then shoulder in the '77 spring training and was never the same again. but i love my Mark Fidrych ball. it's a constant reminder that baseball is more than making big money, it's about having fun and making the fans have fun.
he was baseball's first rock star also, he was the first ball player to make the cover of Rolling Stone. how cool is that?
