Johan Santana (Advantage: He's Johan, playing Tigers at home, who he's good against, esp. this year; good K numbers even if he doesn't get a win. Disadv: Twins are struggling to put up runs consistently; Johann's not as dominating in the 2nd half as he used to be; Tigers really want wins; Twins are experimenting with their players)
Josh Beckett (Advantage: He's on a tear this season, great run support; league-leading team who wants to make their magic number this week. Disadvantage: Playing the Yankees, he's done well, but it's it's Tampa Bay)
Justin Verlander (Adv: Playing Texas at home; good run this year. Disadv: not the strikeout king or as consi

You don't say how many pitchers you are allowed to use so I will rank them.
1. Beckett - Boston is playing great and he has been pitching good too.
2. Verlander - Detroit is still in the race and will continue to use their best players.
3. Santana - With Minnesota out of it, his run support will be even less.

Play Beckett then Verlander and last play Johan, I never thought that I woudl say that Johan was the third option in that but you are right about the run support but also they are playing rookies in the field which leads to more errors and more runs for the opponents!
