First time in MLB history a road team did it too. How about that?

He just stole his 20th base!
That makes him only the 3rd player in MLB history to have 20 HR's, 20 triples, 20 doubles, and 20 SB in a season.

Fans at the game gave him an standing ovation in honor!

Is he just simply awesome or what???

And I don't mean Minute Maid OJ, I mean steroids. Maybe not currently because of the "strict" rules, but certainly in the past. Since signing his huge 252 million contract in 2000, he has had 7 awesome seasons, injury free.

Now that Rick Ankiel, the feel good story in baseball and Troy Glaus, MVP of the 2002 World Series are in the steroid controversy I am not hearing or seeing the outrage that I saw with Bonds. I understand he was going for a hallowed recored but that should not matter. They are all guilty of the same thing even though never testing positive. I know Barry is not a nice guy like Ankiel is but lets hear the same hatred I heard for Mr. Bonds.

Well all favorite teams aside, that pitcher is Daisuke Matsuzaka. If he didnt have the run support of the boston offense, would this be another $100 million ($50 to negotiate with him, another $50 for his contract) disappointment for a player who is basically average?

the Mets currently have the best record in the National League. Does this make them the team to beat in the NL come October?

Brian Cashman is trying to play hardball, saying he'll let A-Rod walk if he opts out of his contract after this season. But really... come on. This guy is arguably the greatest player the game has seen in the last 20 years, and I believe he will eventually break Bonds' HR record. Do they really want him to hit that record-breaking home run in Angel Stadium, or Wrigley Field, or - worst of all - Fenway Park?

I was just checking historical stats at mlb.com and I saw that old pitchers such as Cy Young, Walter Johnson, etc have more than 700 and 500 complete games... some of the people have complete games over games started ratio is 97 or 96... out of 100 games started, 97 were complete games... honestly wins or losses do matter, but what did these guys use to eat... what do you think is the possible reason for this?

I think Roger Clemens was the last to do it in '84. I know that the current wisdom is that only an everyday player should win the award, but It seems to me that some have come to think that this is actually a RULE. Its not. I just wonder if a pitcher who is truly outstanding enough to win the award will be denied it because of this prejudice against a pitcher winning it.
