The Mets are definitely better than the Yankees, and it would be nice to play them in the World Series so we can prove it to them.

Absolutely not. Yes, the Mets may have a better record than the Yankees by ONE game, but then they also play in a very poor National League. The Yankees have the fourth best record in the National League, but if they were in the NL, they would lead the Central and West. There are many more good teams in the AL than in the National League. Even the poor teams, like Tampa Bay and Kansas City are tough to beat, despite their record.
Met fans seem to think that the Mets are a lot younger than the Yankees, but that's not true at all. After Wright and Reyes, the Mets are an old team, and pitching-wise, they are older than the Yankees, now that the Yankees have Hughes and Kennedy in the rotation. Clemens is older than anyone on the Mets, but the Mets have two ancient pitchers in Glavine and El Duque.
The Mets have a good offense, but it's not as good as the Yankees, and even though the Yankees ERA is higher, it's because the AL had a DH, there are no weak-hitting pitchers batting. I don't think the Mets get a sniff of the playoffs in the American League.

Mets. the clarification I say it particularly is by way of fact, regardless who has the better payroll and is seen to have extra effective gamers, all of it comes all the way down to outcomes. i think of the Mets will win the NL East, if no longer they are going to a minimum of get the Wild Card. i think of the Yankees would be third in the AL East at the back of the Sox and Rays.

you know.. I'm a red sox fan and HATE the yankees.. but in fairness.. no.. the mets are not even close.... the nl doesn't compare to the al... the yankees have way more good kids behind their billions in salaries.. yanks no contest here... the mets can win a series or two .. but ten series would slant to yanks...

The Mets have a better record then the Yankees, and are winning their division. If you only look at that, then yes, they seem to do better. However, the NL teams are on average weaker than the AL teams, so you can easily argue an easier schedule, and the Mets aren't in the same division as the Red Sox, so that makes them look better.

No Way! The Mets always seem to buckle under any real pressure. And their owners are too cheap to spend any real money on getting some decent players. Mets are in first. Yankees are in second... but compare their team stats! Yankees win by a mile!

They're pretty close, and in maybe a three game series the yanks win, but in a seven game series, mets win (I'd like a subway world series tho, that would be nice, but mets would win it.)
