Its handled by the amount of Victories and Losses all three teams have against Each other, It this Point the Tie-Breaker would be between the Cardinals and Brewers, thus Eliminates the Cubs.

If two teams are tied for a division title, AND both will go to the postseason anyway (one gets the wildcard berth), then non-game tiebreaker methods are used, with head-to-head record the first option.
If two teams are tied for the wildcard berth, a one-game playoff is held. This last happened in 1999 in the NL, Mets defeating Reds.
If three teams are tied for a division title, a two-game system is used. The teams are designated A, B, and C (there are various ways this occurs), and then B plays at A, with C playing at the A/B winner's home. Last team standing gets the division champion berth.
If two teams are tied for a division title AND a third team, in another division, is tied with them for the wildcard berth, the intradivision teams play for the division championship, and the losing team then plays the third team for the wildcard.
Believe it or not, a four-way is somewhat, well, not simpler, but more straightforward. MLB doesn't even bother working out which teams are A, B, C, and D; they just draw straws (coinflips, whatever) to sort it out. A plays B, C plays D, winners face off, tra-la.
Here's the 2003 press release on how these things are done. Nothing has changed since, so this is the relevant information.

I'm not sure but with the Cubs and Cardinals having 5 games in seven days I doubt that that could happen but who knows? I'm looking forward to the rest of this month. :)

there are tie-breakers
i think it goes
1) head to head record
2) Record vs. NL Central
3) Record vs. NL
If still tied after these tie-breakers. Coin Flip
or something like that.....

I would think the top two with most wins in their specific (not overall)division would play a pre-playoff game.

good question, it usually goes with head to head meetings.
I suppose it is whoever has the best record against the other two teams.?
