Also, if you aren't going to answer this question appropriately, then do not answer. (for example strikers24 answer "i'm a red sox fan"... I don't give a ****! answer the question!..also take note of Big Van Vader.. no trash talk please.. and by the way you're not funny.)

It's fine to like more than one team, but there is one fatal flaw in this idea of liking both the Yankees and Red Sox:
They are in the same division, and have been for decades.
If you are a true Red Sox fan, this inherently means wanting the Red Sox to beat the Yankees as often as possible to win the A.L. East. The need for the demise of the New York Yankees is VERY closely connected with chances for Red Sox success. The way the schedules are nowadays, intra-division rivalries take up a HUGE part of the schedule.
You can be a fan of baseball, and like all the teams, and simply be an observer. That's fine. But when you become a fan of a team, this means not being a fan of teams your team is directly competing with.
Can you like them? I guess so, you can like a team without being a fan. I find that the Phillies have a likable bunch of guys, and I'm a die-hard Mets fan. However, I am certainly not a fan of the Phillies, nor of the Braves.
A good friend of mine is a big Yankees fan, and we do have respect for each other's teams. We don't hate them, but we're not fans. However, I guess it is more possible to be a Mets and Yankees fan than it is to be a Yankees and Red Sox fan; sure, it's the same city, but almost no direct competition.
Sure, I guess she can like the Yankees, she doesn't have to hate them...but if you're a true Sox fan (or Yankees fan), you can't be a fan of both. When you've truly chosen a side as a true fan of a team, CHOOSE a side, for crying out loud!

Neither Red Sox fans or Yankee fans have to like one another but a healthy respect would be in order. I have a real problem with those who come on the internet and for whatever reason have to make unnecessary degrading comments about either team. It serves no purpose when the word "sucks" comes into play. Most are young kids and don't have a clue about baseball or the long history between the two ball clubs. I'm a Yankee fan but I was a huge "Yaz" fan as a kid. I've always considered Jim Rice and Dwight Evans as great players and would secretly root for both of them to do well. I guess more than anything else that makes my a baseball fan, not just a Yankee fan.

I totally agree with you with the feud that is between Red Sox and Yankees you can't be a True Red Sox fan and like both . Any other team than the Yankees I would say yeah you can still be a fan and like that team but not the Yankees.
RED SOX RULE :)

Red Soxs fans can't root for the Yankees. That is the big division rival. It is like Cubs and Cardinals.

No Its the allstar activity! If it have been the different activity, it could be ideal. New Yorkers are purely impolite and ignorant (have confidence ME! i understand reason ive been to NYC thrice and that they are all jerks....to apply the nicest term achieveable for them) The allstar activity is think to be stylish in a fashion, with all of the "legends" there & stuff, yet of coarse the recent yorkers tutor who they are fairly, and tutor no type by doing that interior the activity, interior the presence of all those "legends ok, no longer ALL Yankee followers are jerks... lots are. the problem is, the ASG is meant to be an exhibition activity with the final of the final gamers attending. This 365 days, we even had HOF legends there. i think of the main difficulty is that the followers did no longer stay consistent. They have been booing JD Drew till he hit the two run hr, then they have been purely cheering like they weren't in user-friendly terms booing him some moments before.
