He's not suspended and is still playing. He's come out and said he took drugs, but that they were prescribed by a doctor to help him with an elbow injury.
Bud Selig has requested a meeting with him to here his side of the story. As long as Ankiel is telling the truth about the drugs being prescribed, I don't think it will be too big of an issue.

He is still playing. I sincerely hope that he sets the record straight soon. Fans need to hear WHY he needed them in the first place and HOW MUCH of the substance he took.
