Didn't they just meet with Jason Giambi, who admitted that he used steroids???? and what happened to Giambi? NOTHING, he's still playing. I don't even think he was fined or suspended. MLB talks all hard about how they are going to rid the sport of dirty players and steroids, but then these guys keep playing. Ban them for life. WTF, grow some nards. Selig is such a hypocrite.

Selig and the owners let this stuff go on for 10 years and now he wants to talk to everybody. He is a joke.

I hate Bud Selig too, but I agree about the Jason Giambi situation. Giambi should not get penialized for admitting taking steroids and trying to catch other steroid users. So that was the right move, however I do hate Bud Selig. Ankiel and Glaus did not admit anything and are not trying to catch other players. That's the reason why Giambi got off with no penalty and Ankiel and Glaus are gona meet with Selig.

The real reason Giambi wasnt punished or for that matter even made a big deal of (all the while they were crusifying Bonds...not that he didnt deserve it but either they are COMPLETLY against them or they turn the other cheek 100% of the time...like with Giambi) is simple. Giambi threatened to go Canseco and give a laundry list of names he knew were using including ballplayers employeed by one Mr. Hypocrite himself...Bud Selig! Notice how fast they shut down the pitcher from Arizona (wish I could remember his name) but he offered up a list of over 20 ballplayers and/or management names for users or suppliers from within the teams. Either they get serious about the usage which they happlily ignored during the steroid (sorry I meant HR record chase between users Sosa & McGwire) right after the strike. Even the President of the U.S. of America (GWB) employeed users such as Sosa, Canseco, Juan Gonzalez, Pudge and others. To think baseball just learned of the problem when Bonds approached sacred ground would require baseball to assume we are all morons! This is a little game of pretend so congress wont pursue their exemt status and they can get some fans to believe they care about the athletes and not the money. Too bad Mr. Selig...we arent all fools!
Honestly lets forget the scandals....I could care less if a guy wants tiny nads just so he can hit the ball farther. I pay my money to see HRs, not how big a players balls are. If they want to wreck their bodies why should we care and the owners obviously dont care if they can make money off the fool.

He's doing what he has to do. Ankiel already has admitted taking the drugs, but he said they were prescribed by a doctor to help heel an elbow injury. All Selig is doing is trying to here their side of the story. Unless they fail a drug test, you can't just go suspending guys based on some reports that come out, at least not until you here their side of the story.

The reason Jason was not punished is because you want people to come forward and talk about it.

If you punish the people that come forward, then no one will come forward. So that makes sense.

But I don't know what Glaus and Ankiel can say except that they did receive shipments of steroids or HGH and that is that. They won't throw anyone else under the bus because that would mean the end of their careers. They rat on others, they would never be welcomed into the clubhouse again.

I have no idea what happened with Giambi or Glaus but I do know that in Rick Ankiel's case, it was NOT a steriod scandal! HGH isn't even a steriod! He said so himself that he didn't do anything illegal in MLB because he used HGH when it was allowed in MLB and he didn't do anything illegal with the law because he got the subscription from his doctor (he had no idea about the pharmecy problems) legaly for healing quicker from his surgery. So he should be fine and not get in trouble and of course get to keep playing.

Edit: There is nothing for Ankiel to admit! He already admitted to using HGH and he said when he used them, where he got them from, and why!

As much as I detest cheaters, I think that everybody is entitled to have their side of the story heard. Granted, I am a Cardinals fan, and this Ankiel business stings pretty badly, but it's only been a little over a day. I hope he comes out and just tells the truth (his press conference yesterday wasn't convincing).

This one's a tough call. I won't judge Glaus or Ankiel unless the source is named and proven reliable, or if one of them admits to it.
