the yankees are overrated. the owner puts too much money into players that let their egos get in the way of their production on the field. i think the yankees are going to let a-rod go after his contract. the yankees have too many stars. that is why they can't win a ring. hell, why do you think randy johnson only stuck around for one year.

Being a Yankee fan, you would think that I would not say that they are overrated, but I think that they are this year to some degree. Most of the Yankees lineup and pitching staff at one time were some of the most dominant players. For example, Rivera was THE best closer around and now he is average with average amounts of saves and an average ERA, but everyone talks about how dominant he is.
The Yankees also have some young players that will too one day dominate (Cabrera, Cano, Duncan, Hughes, and Joba) and when their time comes, they too will be overrated.
I also feel that Boston, Detroit, and Anaheim are overrated.

You mean "Aren't the yankees Overrated?"
Definetly not! They have huge talent! If the Yankees didnt have that bad start, they would have been in 1st place! They are better than Boston and have the MVP in Alex Rodriguez. I hate it when people say that they buy a Championship. Look at the many players that came up in their farm system and now in the ML leagues! Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Andy Phillips, Shelley Duncan, Jorge Posada, Ian Kennedy, Chien-Ming Wang, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettite, Joba Chamberlain, Ian Kennedy, Phil Hughes, Melky Cabrera! and the list will go on and on! This team has the best offense in baseball but all we need is a little better pitching!

the yankees are not overrated they do things no one else can.
they never give up even when there out. they can win thedivision if the lead of the red sox is 3.0 by the end of there next series. in the 2001 world series they were down 2-0 two games in a row with 2 outs in the 9th . they won both games. i dont get how they overcome the pitching problems. i dont get how they came back in 1978. i dont get how there coming back now. all ive got to say is NEVER COUNT OUT THE NEWYORKYANKEES. ALSO THEY ARE NOT DEAD UNTIL THE DIVISION LEADER HAS AN X Y OR Z NEXT TO THE TEAM NAME. oh ya dean you need to get your facts straight. he was in new york for two years and i believe he was 6-1 or 7-1 against the red sox. but he wasnt that great while he was here

The Yankee's are not overrated, I am a Red Sox fan, The Yanks have the hitting. The only problem they have is pitching, I can only hope that will kill them in the playofffs. Yankees are the best offensive team in baseball.

The past few years the YANKEES know that you don't win A.L.East in the first half of the season. That is why after July 4th,you need to watch them closely.

How are they overrated if they will probably make the playoffs. Sure, they had a rough 1st half, but if they win the wild card, it doesn't matter if they win the division or not.
I certainly wouldn't want to play them in the playoffs.

Depends on where they are rated.
Good team? Yes, though far from ideal.
But yes, their feet DO touch the ground, and none of them, not even Jeter, can transform water into Gatorade.

No. Most people said they were finished and washed up early on and now those same people are eating their words.
Tell me another team that could do what they did with the amount of pitching problems they have had?
