The Yankees are clearly the better team. Yes, the Red Sox might have the better record right now but even after the pathetic start the Yankees had they have the 5th best record in baseball. Throw in the fact that the Yankees just swept the Sox 3 straight a week and a half ago tand hey also hold the edge in the season series 8-7. The Yankees lineup is superior to the Sox's. The Sox starter hold a slim edge in pitching but the Yankees pitching has been a lot better lately. The relief corp is much better now too with the addition of Joba.

By the way as for Laura's post.
It's funny how she says that Yankee fans need to stop living in the past but then at the end talks about how the Sox came back in 2004. Last time I checked that also was the past.
And the Celtics don't have 16 by far the most of any NBA franchise. Yes they have 16 championships but the Lakers have 14. 2 championships more doesn't really count as by far in my book.
Lastly, remember the old saying:
George Santayana said "Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it."
Don't ignore history ever. Like the history that besides 2004 the Red Sox falter in September and October.

This year the Red Sox but with the Red Sox's one championship in 86 years, the Yankees overall. Some Sox fans will say most fans were not arond for most of the 26, but I was arond in 1977, 1978, 1996, 1998,1999 & 2000. That's 6, count them 6 World Series titles to the Red Sox 1, so the Yankees will always be the overall better team.

I hate both. I'm apparently a Mets fan so I obviously hate the Yankees and I have a huge disliking of the Red Sox too. But in a game between each other, I would probably want the Red Sox to win.

Boston Red Sox

The players have way more personality. They goof around and have fun. We also NOW have a better record.

Yankee fans are idiots. The interesting thing about Yankees fans is that they only dwell in the past. I'm speaking for all the Redsox fans I know when I say that there completely sick of hearing "WE have 26 rings, we're better than you. You only have 6. Yankees are better."

The Boston Celtics have 16 rings, by far the most in the history of the NBA. There are no Celtics fans proclaiming them as the greatest team just because they have 16 rings to say the Cavs 0.

I don't understand how saying we were better far in the past is a reason to brag about your team. I've taken crap from people recently about Bucky Dent, Aaron Boone, etc. HELLO! do any yankees fans know what happened in 2004? And they still won't shut their ******* trap. Last time I checked, the Bosox won the World Series in 2004, and the Yankees haven't since '00 when they had Paul O'Neill, David Justice, Scott Brosious, Chuck Knoblach, etc.

I like the Sox cause of the better farm system and the better relife core with Okajima(1.79 ERA and 13 ER he is a rookie who was only brought in to be a friend to Daisuke) Timlin Gagne and Papelbon(34 saves and 1.58 ERA). Who do the Yanks have Joba Edwar Fansworth(4.33 ERA) and Mo(who has been horrible this year surrendering 58 hits, 21 ER, and 4 HR). Also i think the Sox have a supperior Starting Rotation with Schilling(8-6 4.08 ERA) Beckett(17-6 3.30 ERA) Daisuke(14-11 4.11) Wakefield(16-10 4.39 ERA) and the 5th starters being Lester Tavarez Buchholz(1 No-No). The Farm system is so supperior with Jacoby Ellsbury .415 2HR 7RBI, Brandon Moss a amazing prospect but only batting .154 in the bigs and that Pitching. So yeah i think that the Red Sox are better

Well it is the yankees 26 world championships... not to mention this year the yankees would have been ahead in the divison if it wernt for many mis timed injuries.... The yankees dont have a better starting pitching staff than the redsox though if they pull together they can the redsox offence is overated big time! Buccholz is not that great sorry to bust your bubble okay he threw a no hitter against the orioles? we are talking about a team out of the race with not much offence... personally I like the yankees bullpen better than bostons after papelbon I really dont think they have much where the yankees have many relievers that can pitch well.... Also the yankees have better rookie pitching with ian kennedy, Edwar Rameriz, Joba Chamberlian, Phil Hughes, Humberto Scanchez, Scott Patterson, Alan Horne, Matt Desalvo ( possible), Tyler Clippard, and Chase Wright so really this year they are pretty much tied..... I hope we see each other in the ALCS I love the tension and excitment of the rivalary :D hope this answered your question

Red Sox is the better all around team this year (sorry - I really like Jeter so I would have said Yankees if I could have)

Red Sox have the depth and consistancy that the Yankees lack.

The Red Sox have been much more consistent this yea. even though the yanks have 100 billion $ to spend on players the Yanks never seem to dominate. Weird huh?

The Yankees have the better lineup but their pitching has left much to be desired. I still think the Yankees will make the playoffs and if they do can get red hot in an instant. If so, there is no reason to think that they can't win it all. Go Yankees!!
