Why don't these two shows go HD? They are part of ESPN...a HD channel. I hate watching these shows with the stupid ESPNHD borders.

when people mention historic stadiums they rarely say Tiger Stadium even though they build it in 1912.
also when they talk about the greatest spring training home they mention Vero beach not the older home of the tigers.
they had some of the greatest players Ty Cobb, and Roger hornsberg
is it because they lost for such a long time or its been years since their last championship. they seem to be overlooked has a historic team.

The Cubs haven't won anything in eons . They don't do anything any other team doesn't do and it's a little perplexing that they would draw new fans based upon their lack of success . Other teams are just as unsuccessful , yet they don't draw new fans like the Cubs seem to . There's tons of other perennial losers , so what gives ?

Since they now have Adam Jones, should they move Raul Ibanez to DH, then trade Vidro for a Starting Pitcher?

That would help their chance in both the west and wild card.

Obviously AROD looks to be the best player in the game, but is his value that much greater then players like Jose Reyes and Ichiro? I have been watching the game along time and when the game is played at its highest level pitching is usually the most important thing. No matter how good the hitters are the pitcher controls the game. Take the All Star game for example, the best pitchers in the game pretty much nuetralized most of the games greatest players except the two guys who skills present major problems for any pitcher, those players were Jose Reyes and Ichiro. A game played at its highest level will be decided by little things such as speed, teamwork, defense, sacrificing with bunts and moving players in position to score. Not to understate the greatness of such players as Bonds or Arod but I think players like Reyes, Ichiro pose equal threats as well and are worth those thypes of contracts if the sluggers are getting them. Discuss.

I am the 3rd hitter on the team. I make a lot of contact. my problem is that i keep hitting grounders! I need to start hitting line drive doubles and triples and maybe a home run here and there. I know i can do it. i've done it before. Is there some way i can change my stance or how i hold the bat so i hit line drives?

My son wasn't picked this year for All-stars this year becuase of politics in our little league. Everyone knows that you have to know someone (as opposed to having the skills) to get into one of the 14 spots on the team and most don't have the skills my son has. I think it's BS!! Would you be upset if this happened to you? What would you do?

PS. Our league president isn't the sharpest tool in the tool box. He just happened to get the position because (again) he knew people that knew people...

Dont you think that is kind of crazy for a lead-off hitter? He is good and all but think what this is going to do to baseball. If Ichiro gets $20 mil a year then Arod is worth $30-$35 Millions based on performance if that is the market
