A relief pitcher receives a save if one of the three things occurs. A starting pitcher can not receive a win.

1. A relief pitcher pitches for the last three innings of a game, regardless of the score.

2. A relief pitcher enters the ninth inning with a lead of three or less runs.

3. A relief pitcher enters the game with the tying run either on base, at the plate, or in the on deck circle.

FOR A WIN
The pitcher must leave with a lead and his team has to keep that lead intact until the end of the game.

For a loss
if the pitcher leaves the game and he is trailing and if his team not able to tie the game then gets the loss also if a reliever comes from a bullpen and blows a lead away then the reliever gets the loss.
a pitcher can also get a loss even when he leaves the game tied or leading that is if he leaves any baserunners and that runners later scores which gives the lead to the other team even on a hit given up by some other pitcher.

For a save
the releiever must enter with at least a three run lead and close out the game if he has a lead of more than three runs he cant get the save also he ony needs to face at least one batter.

hope that helps.

The pitcher gets a win if the team is winning when he is pulled out of the game. The team has to hold onto the lead though. If the other team ties it back up and then they take the lead again, the current pitcher is set up for the win. A pitcher gets a loss if his team is losing when he is pulled out. But if his team comes back and ties it up and then they lose the lead again, the pitcher that gave up that lead gets the loss.
A pitcher gets a save if he comes in when the tieing run is on deck, at the plate, or on base and finishes the game(he can come in any inning).

Go with what Chipmaker gave ya. Also know that a pitcher has to pitch at least 5 innings to even qualify for the win. Anything less than 5 innings, and he can't win, even if they are winning at the time.

Winning and losing pitchers are spelled out in Rule 10.17.

Saves are much simpler, and detailed in Rule 10.19.
