Don't know who they'd get for him. I doubt they trade him, he's got a decent bat and can fill in a few positions if anyone gets injured.

It would be ideal to trade Vidro, but he won't net much in return, especially with his $8 million/yr. contract. He could be part of a package, but even so, teams will have little interest in Vidro.
The Mariners may be best served leaving him on the bench as their 10th bat, and waiting for his contract to run out. He's not entirely worthless, but as an everyday starter he is killing the team.
Replacing Vidro in the lineup with Adam Jones would likely provide the offensive boost that will get the team into the playoffs, even if unexpected bullpen highlights Eric O'Flaherty and Sean Green regress a little bit, and Putz and Sherill are slightly less incredible.

They could try, but I don't think they would be able to get much of a pitcher for Vidro. Vidro is worthless in the NL, so it'd have to come from an AL team. You can eliminate all the AL West teams and any team that still has a shot at the playoffs. Those teams aren't going to give up starting pitching to a team that could be making a playoff run. That leaves bottom feeders, most of whom aren't going to trade for an extra bat that doesn't have any power. At best they'd be able to get a pitcher that's eqaul to their #5 starter - they won't improve the pitching staff.

I think that they should. Jose Vidro is a very overrated hitter and he suffers lots of injuries. In the past four seasons, the most games he's played is 126. He is a pretty consistent hitter and has good plate discipline, but can no longer hit many homers or steal. His fielding has gone downhill too, which is why he's playing DH.

I think they should trade Vidro. There is no point in keeping him. They have a good young outfeilder in Adam Jones who is much better defensively than Ibanez and problably better offesively than Vidro.

What team do you think is going to give up a starting pitcher for a DH who has 3 homers in 305 at-bats this season?

Yeah, Im confident him and maybe Wladamir Balentin could haul in Dontrelle Willis for some rotation stability, but I don't know ever since that rant from the Florida GM or whoever it was about Ichiro's contract

Not a bad idea. To be honest I never thought Jones would pan out.
