I mean can't they get their own thing going?

this was on astros.com. what do you think?

While the Astros may not be looking to move Lidge on July 31, they are on the prowl for a catcher who can move into the No. 1 spot that will likely be vacated by Brad Ausmus at the end of the season.

The catcher position is the top priority for the Astros heading toward the trade deadline. If they don't acquire a catcher by July 31, it'll be No. 1 on their list this offseason.

"We'll try to find a guy that has given us what Brad has given us," Purpura said. "You don't want Brad to think he's getting pushed out the door but at some point reality sets in.

"Looking at the trade deadline, if we can do something to help our club now, that also helps us in the future, that's the No. 1 priority. We want to get better this year, but set ourselves up for being better in future years."

J.R. Towles appears to be the club's top catching prospect, but Purpura thinks it's unrealistic to assume he could move into a starting role next year.

None of them really belong, but compare the stats. Simmons is just as good and even better.

4-0, but his team rallies for 3, but fall short in the 9th...who gets the L? Also...if a reliever comes in a 'non-save' situation, but then allows enough runners to reach to make it a 'save' situation, then 'saves' it, does he get the save?

It seems like he is getting more and more favor the closer he gets to the record. Do you agree? If so, how would you explain it? I thought I would be hearing more and more "boo-birds" as he approached that hallowed mark, but instead I'm hearing applause. Is Bonds actually winning people over somehow? Is he winning YOU over?

Example: I enjoyed a championship for the Mets while I was little. Since then they've been mediocre and downright awful at times, until recently. With Wright & Reyes, plus the signings of Beltran, Delgado, & Pedro, all kinds of people are Mets fans.

When that kind of thing happens, do you enjoy the fact that your team is doing so well that more fans are jumping on the bandwagon?

Or do these new fans annoy you by never living through the tough times your team has been through? They're only around when things are good. How dare they cheat the game like that? This goes for any sports you'd like to talk about, but I spend more time in baseball and thought the Mets were a perfect example.
