KG and Allen (pending on the health of Allen) paired with Pierce to make a run in the Eastern Conference

The Red Sox having a great season and just acquired Eric Gagne to cement and overall solidify an already stud bullpen that's the best in the league.

Andre Dawson played 21 seasons in the major leagues, notching 438 home runs and 1591 RBI. He also added 314 stolen bases and 8 Gold Gloves. He was MVP in 1987, and was 2nd in the MVP voting in 1981 and 1983. He was named to the All Star team eight times. Get this man in the HOF!!

Do you think it was a good move for the Sox? I personally didnt want them to get rid of Gabbard but, I guess with Schilling back next week there wouldnt be room for him. Gagne has had a terrific career but has been used as a closer. The Sox have Papelbon so what do you think they will use Gagne for?

How would you react if he hits 755 and 756 at Dodgers Stadium?

2007-07-31 07:44:42 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous

think about it

Betemit is a solid utility play, hitting over .300 as a pinch hitter this season. he has better numbers this year than the other yankee utility player, Miguel Cairo

Proctor has been overworked alott, and he will fit in nicely as the setup man for Takashi Saito. he will pitch less and be more effective. in NY he was being overworked because the rest of the bullpen is struggling

so i think both sides benefit from this and that the Cashman is not an idiot (this time)

My dad, and my coach both said that my swing is too quick, that i have to lengthen my swing a bit, so i can take those outside pitches to right field instead of pulling the ball all the time. There are guys in my league that throw 80+, and i still pull them all the time. Does this happen often?

Reports are just breaking. But it looks like he was traded to the Yankees for Farnsworth and minor leaguers.

I realize this may be in impossible question to answer but I'm going to try. When I was in high school in the late '80's there was a high school player drafted by the Brewers. He was a pitcher that had a couple of "perfect games" striking out EVERY BATTER (in high school). I don't remember the exact year but it was late 80's and I don't remember where he was from. Does anybody have any idea who it was? Did he ever make it to the majors?

Wow, that's the biggest crock of (blah) I have ever heard. If the Yankees are trying to tell A-Rod that this is his potential replacement that's a slap in the face. Betemit is a good bench player and nothing more. He never panned out with the Braves. He was supposed to be the next greatest thing here in A-Town, now look at him.

The Yankees need A-Rod more than A-Rod needs the Yankees. I hope the reports I have been hearing, the Yankees think he is the potential replacement for A-Rod, is just a late April fools joke.

LETS JUST SAY THAT . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Bonds plays for 1 more year, shatters the record at 781.... retires. 5 yrs pass and despite heavy criticizm and controversy.... he's easily inducted into the hall of fame 1ST BALLOT no question about it.
5 more years pass in 2017 he writes and releases a TELL-ALL book, admitting he used steroids, took performance enhancing drugs, how he's gay and finaly comes out and managed to keep it a secret for so many years... LMAO hey you never know
how would you feel then? would it even matter to you? would you care? is it a moot point because irrevocably A-ROD will MASACRE his record anyway......

Laughing at the bottom-dwelling Kansas City Royals might be a thing of the past. KC has recently taken 2-3 from Boston @ Boston, 2-3 from Detroit @ Detriot and swept the Rangers. And think about this...there are at least 6 or 7 other teams in the majors with even or worse records.

Does Moore have the solutions to turn this team around? Looks like a good start to me.

First let me start by saying, I love baseball, soccer, hockey, and american football. But every time I see an argument when a football fan belittles baseball and says it is boring, then baseball fans comeback with, "well you just stick to people knocking each others heads off and we we stick to our game of intellect.

Now the last time I checked most (probably 99%) football players spend "at least" one year in college. Where as a majority of baseball players come straight out of high school. Also, a lot of undrafted players coming from other countries come from impoverished lands and have very little education. Now, the NBA is the epitome of stupid, and you see why the league is full of thugs. Just look at their draft policy of the past.

Secondly, as a homage to Bill Walsh, offenses are very sophisticated and takes intellect from players and coaches to efficiently run them. In baseball you pretty much go through the motions. It doesn't take a big brain to swing a bat.

Your Thoughts?

I was flipping throught channels last night and stopped on the Cubs game on ESPN. Every pitch that guy throws, he first bends his plant knee real quick, then continues the pitch. How is that not a balk? Wouldn't that be decieving the runner at first, as if he was attempting a pickoff move?

Thanks for the input...

right now i'm in this nationals tournament for baseball it's 13u there are teams from everywhere california, missouri, texas, NY, viginia, memphis, florida and more. but anyway I pitch and i throw around 72-75 and i think that's pretty good for my age, I dont let up alot of runs i do pretty good, but then after the game i walk over to watch the other games and there is a kid who's throwing 80 and he's getting rocked there hitting him like crazy and he was placing his pitches well he had an unbelivable 12-6 curve but still he was getting hit. and also what i dont get is that when i pitched against the team who hit this kid they only got 6 hits off of me. why is it that a kid who is a much better pitcher than me gets killed by the same team who did decent against me. o by the way i know he throws 80 cuz right when the kid threw the first pitch in the game the coach grabbed his radar gun walked over and clocked it and it said 82

I love Brad Lidge---especially this year when he is not doing well. I think his upside in the American League is huge, and that he just needs to be motivated on a new contending team to catch fire.

Todd Jones scares me everytime he touches the ball--bottom line.

I think this would be a super deal...
