the only way he will score is if he tags up. that means if once the ball is caught he can run home as long as his foot is on third base when the person catches it.

A person can score from third base on a pop fly only if:

there are two outs or less after the ball is caught

and

they stay on third base until after the ball is caught and beat the throw home.

Other than under those circumstances, the run would not count.

He will if he tags up. by this i mean if he stays on base until the ball is caught then goes for home he will score a run...this is all depending on the fact that the ball you hit in the air was not caught for the 3rd out.

He could, if your out is not the third out of the inning.

In order to score, the runner on third would have to either stay on third until your fly ball is caught by a fielder, or if he has already left third, he has to go back and touch it. Then he can try for home, but he does so at his own risk. It's possible he could be tagged out on the way. He could also stay at third if he chooses, if he doesn't think he would make it home safely.

The person on 3rd base can only score with less than 2 outs.but he does need to tag up on the base.Tagging up is touching the base as the fielder catches the ball..

Is there 2 outs? If you are the final out, the run will not count. If the runner tagged up (waited for the ball to be caught before continued running), and its less than 2 outs, the run will count.

How many outs are there? What part of the field did you hit it to? How fast is the guy on 3rd? How good of an arm does the fielder who caught the ball have?

If you hit it far enough into the outfield and they can tag third and run home before they are thrown out at the plate. That is know as a sacrifice fly and can only be done with less than 2 outs.

Only if he left 3rd after the ball was caught (called tagging up) and if your ball didn't cause the 3rd out.
