Ok now heres the situation (This is totally hypothetical and I'm not suggesting a manager do this) In baseball once you take out a player they cannot return them to the game, but the players can switch to any position throughout the game... Now the question is can the manager switch the pitcher into a position player, then later switch them back to the pitcher?
Example: Mariano Rivera is pitching in the 8th and retires the side. The yanks then score 5 runs in the top of the ninth, so to save him Joe Torre puts Rivera at first base takes out Andy Philips and puts in Scott Proctor as pitcher. Proctor gives up 3 runs and NOW can Torre put Rivera back as pitcher and take out proctor? I know the question is long but I wanted to be as specific as possible so there is no confusion... If you can give me a rule that would be cool to.

I can understand when these idiot S.F. barry bonds fans say he's the best player ever, honestly S.F. fans are fake, but when players say it... it's a load of crap..... hell no that jerk off isn't the greatest player of all time, not even close to it..

Tom Glavine wins #300?

A-Rod belts #500?

Bonds slams #755?

It's a crazy night in baseball!

By the way -- is Michael Vick done with his career?

Ok, in baseball, you can take drugs to enhance your game (Bonds) but if you are caught betting on the game, you are banned for life (Pete Rose). What about Mark Mcguire?

Bonds continues to be cheered on even though everyone knows he is reaching this goal by cheating. If in bicycling, what would have happened to Lance Armstrong if he was under the same situation that Bonds is in?

Does this mean that Michael Vick should have played baseball and fought his dogs? Baseball has never been the same since the strike and, in my opinion, should no longer be called America's passtime.

Thank you to the NFL and every other sport out there still keeping the integrity. Why can't baseball have this same ethics?

I personally like "Jose Can-strikeout". He's only fifth on the all time list for most strikeouts with 1942 for his career behind:

Reggie Jackson - 2597
Sammy Sosa - 2288
Andres Galarraga - 2003
Jim Thome - 1995

Can you guys come up with a better nickname for this loser?

In games they usually decide which pitcher won/loss or sometimes they don't choose any. I want to know how they decide the winner/loser or why they don't choose any sometimes.

sure its a cool idea for the kids to be on TV but i think it destroys the meaning of LITTLE LEAGUE baseball. the idea that its on TV gets to both the coaches and players heads very easily. Plus, i dont see why anyone accept the parents, friends and families are even interested and those groups are usually there anyway. so if you disagree with me, please explain why you think its fine for the LLWS to be televised, thank you
