Of course he should.
Here is the thing we should consider.
Selig has found nothing that he can stop Bonds from playing, so, like it or not, the fans have to accept it.
Bonds did hit an awful lot of home runs on his own and drives them in, scores them, steals bases and he was a gold glover.
If you are looking at only the steroid issue, then you must determine who his stats were affected by steroids.
Certainly, 2001 probably added about 25, but what about 2002-2004 where he hit mid 40's. Given a typical decline, problaby 5, 10, then 15 home runs. That's 55 in total. That means he probably hit about 700 under his own juice.
That with 500 SBs is a hall of famer.

Despite what much of the baseball community feels, I believe he should be placed in the Hall without a doubt. First of all, his steriod usage isn't even confirmed--so for all of those critics out there raging about his steriods, those claims are not based on facts...yet. Secondly, steriods or not, the man has constructed a phenominal career, most of which was done without steriods, assuming he used them. He is and was not only known for his power, but his plate patience, his threat on the basepaths, his average, and his defense. Numbers and awards can prove everything: he has won numerous batting titles, gold gloves, and trips to the All-Star game. Barry also became the first member of the 400 HR/400 SB Club, proving his power, contact, and speed. Bonds was clearly a threat in all aspects during his prime. Despite the example he may be setting for his younger fans, Bonds is and was an extraordinary ballplayer who knew how to play the sport extremely well. Any fan who claims to know anything about his history in baseball would be able to say he earned the Hall of Fame, and steriods should not affect that.

Ok first, let me start off by saying that I hate Barry Bonds with a passion. I really hope that he blows out his knee tonight trying to catch a fly ball and can never play again.
However, unless someone can prove that he did in fact use steriods (and I think he did), he should be in the Hall of Fame. He will finish his career, most likely, as the all-time home run leader and one of only 3 people in the 400 HR-400SB club. With numbers like his, you can't keep him out.

Silly question. Of course he's a Hall of Famer. If he retired in 2000 he would've been a Hall of Famer.

Not a Barry Bonds fan, but until you can prove that he used steroids, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame... Not sure the HOF voters will agree... Mark McGwire hasn't made it in yet...
They may eventually vote him in, but it may not be 5 years after retirement....

I hate Barry Bonds, but yes. I think he's a cheater and a liar, and a horrible human being. But, it's inevitable that he'll break the record, July isn't even over with yet. Plus, his early years were amazing as well. Just because you don't have moral or ethics, doesn't mean you don't have baseball fundamentals.

Yes he should. People seem to forget the he already had Hall Of Fame numbers even before the steroid controversy started.
