Best series I saw was 2004 Yankees vs. Sox...best World Series I saw was that same year when the Sox beat the Cardinals in four...it might not have been the most exciting to other people but to a Red Sox fan it is the best.

As a Mets fan, yes that series is the key to our baseball existence and an amazing reminder of the ability of a ball to roll through a guy's legs, but it's time to move on... I WANT MORE.

Anyway, the 2001 Series between the D-Backs and Yankees was easily the most dramatic and exciting, given all of the different story lines, most notably how everyone in the country (not living in Arizona or Boston) seemed to get behind the "hated" Yankees because they were playing for a New York that had just recently suffered an unspeakable tradegy. This series had dominating pitching, two walk-off homeruns, and a legitamate Game 7- bottom of the 9th comeback to win it with the most dominating closer in the game on the mound. Come on... could it possibly have been better?!!

It was a decent series, but I think the 1975 Series between the Reds and the Red Sox was better. 5 of the 7 games were decided by one run, and game 6 saw the famous Fisk home run. Be tough for me to find a better series then that - 2 great teams playing good solid baseball.

Oh Yeah. being a Mets fan I loved it due to them winning a championship. But if you think back the characters they had on the Mets team and even the Sox provided a lot of entertainment for all. I can't imagine characters like that with the 24/7 world of ESPN and the like now a days. Great stuff.

For some odd reason,my mind has decided that a few years worth of baseball no longer exist..1975? what was that? 1986? again, what was that? 2003? i think i was in a coma that year, now 2004 that was the best year of baseball ever!!..lol...But seriously, the 86 series was good but 75 was more dramatic and better. I think the Fisk home run will always be one of the most memorable, dramatic hits of all time.

Was there a World Series in 1986? I seem to have blocked it from my memory.

I was only born in 1989 so i can't say. What i can say is i only ever see the Buckner play and have never seen another highlight from that series. The best in my lifetime is the 2001 World Series, so many great moments

It was an ok series a great game 6. It's a bit overhyped sometimes because of Buckner and the Mets comeback but still, it's in the top 15 all time.

No. Sloppy play was the key to that series. The best I ever saw was the 2001 World Series - if you are talking about excitement. My favorite was the 2005 World Series because of who won....

I liked the '01 world series more, the only problem with it was the ending.
