I love Brad Lidge---especially this year when he is not doing well. I think his upside in the American League is huge, and that he just needs to be motivated on a new contending team to catch fire.

Todd Jones scares me everytime he touches the ball--bottom line.

I think this would be a super deal...

Both players are big question marks.
Jones is old, Lidge has an almost Ankiel like Pitching Psyche.

Lidge has far more raw talent but can walk 5 guys in a row, while Jones is a playoff proven Veteran who can barely throw the ball over 90 MPH.

The trade will NEVER happen, but if it did, the Tigers would be getting the better pitcher.

They might try to see if Lidge is available but the Astros will not trade a 31 year old Lidge for a 39 year old Jones who is near the end of his career. The Tigers would have to give up a lot more than that to get Lidge.

The Tigers do need to solidify their bullpen if they are going to make a strong push down the strecth. With Zumiya out, & Jones consistently walking on eggshells whenever he comes into the game, a Brad Lidge trade would be great.

I am sure you would think it was a super deal for the Tigers, but how would that be a good deal for the Astros?

Jone's contract is up this year, if Detroit doesn't resign him.
If the astros really want him, why not wait for a few months and just sign him and not give up on lidge.

Well the Astros want prospects not older players. They have already said they aren't going to trade Lidge.

how is a guy with a better save percentage then ramirez with a 4.5 or so era as a closer
with 28/33 saves scare you?
leyland is the most stubborn manager in the game and he is not giving up on any of our starters (get robertson out of here please) jones WILL play out the rest of this year and probably resign for 1 year so zumaya can ease into closer
we need 1 good middle relief man primarily the 8th inning man and thats all the tigs are shopping for

I think the astros would be stupid to trade Lidge for Jones.

i don't get of undertaking to confirm a Tigers sport for the reason that maximum of them (ninety 9%) are blacked out yet those I even have considered, he jogs my memory of the Cubs' Ryan Dempster final twelve months, who i could no longer bare to visual demonstrate unit pitch, and while walk removed from the television or close it off altogether. i'm the comparable way now once I gotta hear to the Tigers sport on line, previous few I had of undertaking to hearken to Jones blew it vast time, that's gotten to the component the place I in simple terms wanna turn the sport off, so i do no longer might desire to hearken to him blow yet another yet another one or incredibly much blow yet another one. I miss Zumaya.

it would be great for the tigers, bad for houston. jones is tanking and is unreliable, i think the tig's need to restructure their pitching by getting rid of robertson, rogers, rodney, and jones. trade for gagne or lidge, and maybe a starter or two.

I'm not a Tigers fan but I would if try make that trade, Jones is scary to watch he is like the Indians with Barowski, you never know if he will be a liabiltiy.
