I am the 3rd hitter on the team. I make a lot of contact. my problem is that i keep hitting grounders! I need to start hitting line drive doubles and triples and maybe a home run here and there. I know i can do it. i've done it before. Is there some way i can change my stance or how i hold the bat so i hit line drives?

no dont change anything about your swing, hitting the ball down and hard is very good. Keep doing it and eventually the ball will start making its way through the infield and you will start hitting double and other extra base hits as time goes on. Dont even worry about it and just have fun playing the game.

I find that it helps to keep your back elbow up, at the same plane as the ball. This will force your swing to be more level and the bat will hit the ball more squarely. Try anything new at a batting range rather than for the first time at a game.

Use a mirror and keep adjusting until you have a level swing. Draw a level line across the mirror and try to match it with your swing. Swing down and through the baseball keeping your head down (chin should go from shoulder to shoulder).

You have the right concept though, a number 3 hitter should be the athlete that always makes contact with the ball.
