that a lot of people see them crumbling? The Cubs have been surging of late but it's only because they are beating up on struggling teams. Still the Brew Crew keeps winning. The Brewers have taken command of the Central from day #1. People said wait until they start playing good teams and that fast start would dissipate. Well they are 13 games over .500 and 7.5 games up on the Cubs. All this with basically one good pitcher in Sheets. The way the NL looks these days the Brewers could easily find themselves in the World Series if their not careful.

I'm not a Brewers fan, just a baseball fan giving them their props. Only time will tell but I think these guys a very much for real. They didn't have some of the highest rated prospects for nothing. Guys like JJ and Prince are stepping up big time. And Corey Hart came out of nowhere. I look at it like this...The Brewers have the same chance of losing their division as much as the Yankees winning theirs!

I always hear it playing in the background as the players are giving high fives and walking off the field, but I haven't been able to determine the name of the song, the lyrics, and where it came from. Does anyone know?

I say they should go ahead and demolish it. Frankly, it's a dilapidating useless eyesore. Some here in the D say declare it a landmark, others say house a minor league team there. What do you think?

Why can't the rangers realize that if you want to win, you need pitching! Spend some money on free agent pitchers instead of batters, now they have neither and their G.M. just got a conttract extension? I know that there are going to be fans out there that will just simply say "The Rangers suck " o.k., fine but as a fan of baseball in general, regardless of whom you are a fan of why aren't the fans listened to more as we are the ones who make these teams possible?

Since the game is in a NL Stadium with no DH available, then the person voted second behind Ortiz should start.Ortiz does not play 1B enough to qualify.

Which one of these players would you build your team around. A guy who hits 30 plus homers and drives in 100 but hits .250 or a leadoff man who who hits .300 plus and steals 30 plus....?

Is Griffey still worth trading for if you are a title contender? Is he washed up? He has roven he can still swing the bat, but his injuries are the issue with him now? i don't think he will last the entire season in Cincy. Either himself or Dunn will go. This is a very very good team offensvly, but the pitching is horrible. I would like to see the guy make it to atleast one World series. Plus he might have to come to the AL soon to dh.

I was watching the Mets play this weekend and one of the commentators stated that JJ hardy was by far the better ss this year thus far and should be the nl east starter at short stop despite trailing Mr Reyes in the voting. Not only did he say this but he was quite adamant and argumentative about it. He could not understand how Reyes could be leading in the voting. He did not say Reyes was not any good but he said he should not be the starter. Now this is a baseball analyst someone who studies and lives for baseball. His comments were quite off the wall to me and I am not even a Mets fan but Reyes is the best ss in the NL east despite Harrdy' s good half of a season thus far. Hardy is good but I will take Reyes any day any time...what do you think? Did anybody else hear this?

Al Lopez, the only non-Yankee to win a pennant in the AL in the 1950s (Indians and White Sox) had one of the premier pitching staff in history, but no consistent offense. He finished 2nd to the Mantle-Maris-Ford Yankees time and time again. In frustration, he proposed a "DPH" rule, which would allow him to use his one good offensive weapon, Smokey, more than once in a game, arguing that it was only fair since he had to compete with NY. Smokey could hit more than once, but each player he hit for would have to come out of the game. Doesn't THIS rule ADD strategy to game? Isn't it at least BETTER than the cyclopian DH rule that exists today? It might even be a rule the NL could cotten to. What do you think?

I know they are still under .500, but they have been playing without some of their main players. Some which are due back soon. I think with the addition of this last pitcher and knowing some are coming off injuries soon, that if the Cards can get to around .500 by midseason then they should make a strong showing for the second half of the season. What do you think?

If so, are intentional walks broken out in stats? It seems unfair that a pitcher's lifetime stats should be affected by the manager's decisions.
