Disabled list, as previously noted.

MLB has two DLs: the 15-day list (that's the minimum amount of time the player must stay on the list), and the 60-day list. Players on the 15-day count against the 40-man major league roster (of which only 25 can be active, from Opening Day through August 31). Players on the 60-day list do not count against the 40-man.

It is the Disabled List. There is actually two types of disabled lists (the 15-day and 60-day). Whichever category you put a player on it tells when they are eligible to come back (60 days or 15). Some managers do not put their minorly injured players on the list and list them as day-to-day (meaning they will probably play one day and then rest the next). Whenever a player is put on the list the ball club will have an open spot on their roster, and will need to fill it by trade, minor league call-up, free-agent, etc.

Hi! You get a star for this good question!
The DL in Major League Baseball is, as the others have here answered, the Disabled List.

When a player is injured, the team is allowed to replace him until he is ready to return to the lineup. Each team is allowed the same number of players on their roster, they may not have more than that number of players. I am sorry, I do not know the exact number that is, but they may have no more than that number of players on their active roster.

When a player is hurt, the team is allowed to place him on the Disabled List and bring in another player to replace him until he gets well and can return to play. The team must then reduce the roster back to the maximum allowed by releasing the replacement player or some other player as the team deems necessary.

I hope this explanation helps!
Thank you for asking!

DL is the Disabled List. Whenever someone gets hurt, they don't necessarily go on the DL. Take Johnny Damon for exapmle, he has hamstring problems and back problems, but he's never been on the DL. sometimes, managers will just give players a few days off without putting them on the DL. If it's a serious injury, like a broken wrist then they will definatly go on the DL.
