well i sprained my hip and i need to keep in shape what to do

I will suggest one thing, don't do anything to re-injure the hip. Hip problems can linger if you are not careful and you don't want that to happen. Just light exercise until the hip is "COMPLETELY" healed.

You don't want to anything to hurt it more then it's already hurt. If i were you, I would talk to my doctor about going to physical therapy. there are trained professionals there who know how to help you make it better. this way, you will know you are healing it, but you will not do anything to re-injure it. also, take advil. of anyother asprin advil is the best because it's an anti-inflamatory. i hope your not in too much pain and you get better soon!

Rest your hip as much as possible, and take some pain medicine as may suit you.

If you want to stay in shape, do lots of upper body, and then when you get th ok, continue to do lower body.
