I thought Al Spalding only won 233 games in a five year period/sarcasm. (According to www.baseball-reference.com)

Now, about those baseball gloves....

Spalding could have won a few post-season games to bring his total up to 241 I suppose.

If he's not the answer, we aren't talking about a player on a ML team... so that leaves the ***** Leagues. Satchel Paige? They spun some tall tales but 48 wins / season?!?

The closest I can find is Al Spalding, who had 233 victories in a five-year span (1872-76), and later started a line of sporting goods that proved quite successful.
