They talk about Mike Lowell being a free agent so there might be room at third on the Red Sox. I'm a Sox fan and I don't like talking about getting rid of Mike Lowell but we've had terrible problems at shortstop since Garciapara left. Why not move A-Rod back to short, addressing a real concern of ours. Also, as a Sox fan, I can now say that it's official that I don't hate A-Rod because he didn't really become a Yankee. Being able to say that plus the fact that we're going to wrap this up tonight make me able to say that it's a great day. I didn't want to hate A-Rod. As far as marketability (ha he actually needs no more of that), he'd be looked at as more valuable as an ss considering how bad SS's numbers have been down the past few years. It just seems odd to me that as much espn and baseball that I watch, i've not heard anyone mention that as even an idea. He's still an amazing athlete and I'm sure still a good SS. Let me know what you think.

Inspired by this entry on the blog of Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis:
http://ted.aol.com/index.php?ID=1341

The Caps and seemingly a lot of their fans always get all bent out of shape because Pens fans are a powerful presence at the Verizon Center in Washington when the Pens and Caps play.

At their 1st matchup this season, the Pens fans got a good "Let's go Pens" chant going and booed Ovechkin. The Caps fans, of course, chanted "Let's go Caps!" and booed Crosby. I think it's an exciting atmosphere to behold, personally...

I wonder if the prices of tickets are up for CAPS fans out-of-state? That would suck.

By the way, do some of you remember how I often point out that Pittsburghers are totally gay for the Steelers? The Pens fans started a "Let's go Steelers!" chant at the end of that game. Wow. Lol.

... make no mistake I'm behind Boston on this series--mainly because I hate the Yankees and I'm eager to see justice in regards to that bloated "hero," Babe Ruth...

nevertheless, I had hoped for a bit more sport in this series...

yes, yes, it is but the 7th and just as I started typing Hawpe *finally* got the Rockies on the board, it ain't over till it's over... still, if the momentum is unphased, this is shaping up to be as much of a joke as when the 1998 Pads beat out the Braves to ... or the subsequent embarassing year for the choking Braves.

Go Sox! ..but jeez, Rockies, I mean, at least make a college try...

I am a huge fan of college football, but don't really follow players, teams, etc...But one thing ive always wondered about was the rules for the clock. I've noticed that the first and second quarter always seem to end SO DAMN QUICK! Yet.. third and fourth quarter seem to take hours! I am watching the UCF vs. South Miss right now and the first quarter ended in 25 minutes...while the last quarters are lasting like 2 hours. Why is this? Also, when do they stop the clock, start the clock, etc?

I know "civilian assault rifles" don't exist, due to the selective fire issue. However, I'm interested in purchasing a rifle that resembles a popular assault rifle. I had an SKS in the past and enjoyed it very much, but I would now prefer something more similar to an M16. Please post any rifles you know of that meet this criteria (M16 or not).

If you have seen the Chargers-Texans game today, you'll know what I'm talking about.

After Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub throws an interception to Antonio Cromartie and Cromartie runs with the ball, Drayton Florence bumps Schaub with his helmet, thus getting him out of the game and replacing him with another QB.

Do you think Florence should've been fined? As a Charger fan, I say yes and I'd be surprised if he wasn't fined.

I absolutely 100% do not care about the Yankees, but has anyone heard anything about Roger Clemens pitching next year? I know the guy probably won't announce anything until after the start of next season. Even though I don't care for the Yankees or the Redsox, I have a lot of respect for Clemens and his love for the game. I think when you play until you 45 even though your numbers have declined significantly, it shows you've given all you can give to the game.

Here we have an Adams winner who was a solid head coach for the Phoenix Coyotes at the beginning of the decade. Every time there is a vacancy, retreads like Mike Keenan, Tom Renney, Dave Lewis, Claude Julien, etc. get hired. What did Francis do to get the Ted Nolan treatment in terms of trying to get an NHL gig?
