I am fairly nauseated by the phony machismo displayed by the Red Sox organization and fans (clapping during game1)over the last few days. Is it just me or is sh*t talking and showboating at an all time high? The fact that the Sox fans can overlook the fact that Manny Ramirez, Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, and Jon Papelbon are such horrible people in their hunger for a world championship has brought into question my appreciation for the game itself. They are a group of seasoned veterans that are beating up on a group of 20 year olds, and doing it with the least grace and respect of any championship team in world series history. It is like watching a snuff film. It is a sad commentary on our society when a team chooses to win in this way. You may hate the Yankees for winning all those years, but the amount of fist pumps and pitcher yells and the like was at a minimum. Joe Torre instilled a sense of respect for the game. You just didn't behave like that.

Just announced on SKY
"Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder has admitted not knowing people speak English in London.
The NFL player might want to check a map before he gets on board a plane for Sunday's prestige game against the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium.
Crowder, who comes from Atlanta in Georgia, may be praised on the field, but confessed geography was not his strong point.
He admitted he did not know until now where London was - or that Londoners spoke English.
"I couldn't find London on a map if they didn't have the names of the countries," he said.
"I swear to God. I don't know what nothing is. I know Italy looks like a boot. I learned that."
Crowder added: "I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him.
That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."

Hi. I'd like to know what are the basic things, transcending personal taste, that one should look for in a big-bore hunting rifle (for using on African Safari, the Big 5, for example).

I do not know too much so please keep it simple. It seems that a telescopic sight is a must, as is a carefully fitted firearm.

I understand calibre and ammuntion types are personal taste to a certain degree but what are the main players? Also, what rifle brands are always heard of in these circles?

Bolt Action only? Magazine size? Stock type? Following an earlier question I have learned that I like a stock called 'Machlinner (sp)', where the whole barrel is encased in wood- could you have a rifle like this?

Please help a complete novice understand how it works. Thanks!

I just joined a roller hockey league for my college but I have only played ice hockey. Thus, I have all my ice hockey gear but i dont know if that can be used for roller hockey and whether or not its all the same stuff or not.

Therefore, what exactly do i need? And can i use all my ice hockey stuff, or is roller hockey gear different from ice hockey's?

hasselbeck+westbrook
for
mcnabb+burress
b4 the trade, the best RB of the guy who gives away mcnabb is deshawn wynn, and besides, he also has wes welker and houshmandzadeh. b4 the trade, the guy who gives away hasselbeck, has derek anderson and favre as his QBs (as well as hasselbeck), reggie wayne, L. Coles and bernard berrian as his WRs and portis and jones-drew as his other RBs.

I have Jones available in FA wire and I have Brown on my team as a reserve #3 WR. Would I be better served droping Brown for Jones over the long haul? I know Jones is the #2 WR in Green Bay but he has had some good games and GB seems to be more of a passing offense. Reggie Brown has been playing better lately so I am a little hesitant to let him go because our league is so thin on good available WR's. What do you guys think.

I have a few offers on the table and the one that intrigues me the most is
I give:
Pual Pierce
Devon Harris

I get
Michelle Redd
Shaquile O'Neal (5 may be able to pry Jermain O'Neal instead)

here's my team, should I do this deal? Also, Im concern about Pierce since the big three is there, will his production go down? Also, Ive read Dallas wants to turn Harris into a star, ala Deron Williams type. Should I keep him off the blocks then?

PG Kirk Hinrich
SG Tracy McGrady
G Morris Peterson
SF Paul Pierce
PF Kevin Garnett
F Mike Miller --> just traded Miller for Kirelenko (good move?)
C LaMarcus Aldridge
C Chris Kaman
Util Stephon Marbury
Util Troy Murphy
BN Charlie Villanueva
BN Rafer Alston
BN Devin Harris

Situation...

Game: 7
Inning: Bottom 9th
Bases: Loaded
Score: 4-7 Colorodo Leading
Your Situation: Sitting by the yellow foul pole with a video camera in hand... recording of course.

Manny hammers a fastball into deep left, soaring over towards foul territory, inches... no, centimeters... no millimeters just foul of the foul pole... atleast that's what the umpires ruled it. A foul ball.

But you and your video camera recorded the ball just knicking the foul pole, and if you listened closely, you could hear the sound of crashing metal and ball.

Would you as a Red Sox fan run up to home plate with your video camera, dodging security guards, to show home plate umpire (crew chief) that the ball actually did hit the foul pole, and is a fair homerun?

Just a little fun question I decided to ask.

BTW, how many security guards you think you'd be able to outrun?

Ok, I ask this every week.....

This week my 6-0 Colts are traveling to Carolina to take on the 4-2 Panthers. Predict the final score. Whoever picks the right winner and comes closest to the actual score will get BA.

Enjoy the games

majors from 1972-1991 and had: 2,446 hits, 1,470 runs, 483 DB's, 73 3B's, 385 HR's, 1,382 RBI's, 1,391 BB's, 1,679 K's (ouch), and a respectable .272 lifetime BA. 3 time all-star and 7 time gold glove winner. He was a solid right fielder with a cannon for an arm at Fenway Park. I think he should get in, he played the majority of his career before the juiced ball/steroid era, etc. However, I feel that Andre Dawson, Jim Rice and Dave Parker should all get in before him. How do you feel about this?
