Can't stand him! I think they should do something with the teams regular announcers, like maybe have one teams play by play guy and one teams color guy, and switch it up through out the series! They know the teams better than anyone! I miss Don and Remy!

I don't think I've ever heard anyone who prefered Joe Buck annmouncing a game. The real issue is Tim McCarver...is there a dumber announcer with poorer decution skills? This imbecile was actully wondering aloud if Terry Francona would take Manny Ramirez out in the 7th inning of a 1 run game last night???? WHAT - A -DOPE!
I wish the Yankees would hire HIM to manage next year...that's be great!

I like Joe Buck. The problem is when he announces a game, Tim McCarver is there also. I can't stand McCarver because he is a blithering IDIOT!!!! He actually made this statement in Game 1 after Youkalis scored from first. "Once a runner gets to third, the only place left for him to go is home." Ummm, DUH!!!! Miraculously I got to the point where I was able to tune him out in Game 2 for the most part. At one point late in the game, Fox showed Troy Aikman, his wife, and their kids in the stands. Joe Buck said something about "my football partner's watching the game tonight" and I was like, "Bring him up to the booth and put McCarver in the stands!"
I agree with an earlier answer about Buck being better on FSN Midwest for local Cards TV. I subscribe tp MLB.TV and have heard him do FSN Midwest games and he is better than he is on "Big Fox."

It's called Fox bought the rights to broadcast the World Series and Joe Buck is the best they can do. I can deal with his poor commentary and corny analysis but what kills me is the the camera angles that are terrible. Fox will get like 4 angles of the play and none of them will be the one we actually want to see. And the fact that they cut away to listen to something someone said that they gave a mic.

Nothing is worse than the guys who do Sunday night baseball. Joe Morgan and Jon Miller are the worst! I'll take Buck and McCarver over them anyday!

I think he's among the best in the game. However, he isn't as good nationally as he is when he does Cardinals games for FSN Midwest, where he's absolutely hilarious.
He's supposed to have some sort of "Bob Costas"-like show on TV soon where he'll be showing off his comedy skills. He actually is pretty funny but the big networks discourage him from getting too silly in these games and it takes away from some of his best assets.
He's still as good as anyone, though, in television broadcasting. Name someone better. I dare you.

who cares if he's good, he gets the games simply because he is like a Katie Couric or Barbara Walters or Dick Vitale or Bill Walton... at least with sports, most of the time, you can turn down the sound and then listen to the radio broadcast...

I agree. Buck is the worst announcer out there. What makes it even worse is that they roll out Tim McCarver's old bones and he hasn't made a decent point in years!!

He's fantastic on Cardinal broadcasts. He's just stiff on FOX because he's forced to root for teams he hates and he's too honest a guy to pull it off.

I can't stand him. They had the sound off on the TV I was watching last night with the text crawl turned on, and he was still annoying me.
