Roller Hockey Gear?

I just joined a roller hockey league for my college but I have only played ice hockey. Thus, I have all my ice hockey gear but i dont know if that can be used for roller hockey and whether or not its all the same stuff or not.

Therefore, what exactly do i need? And can i use all my ice hockey stuff, or is roller hockey gear different from ice hockey's?

Basically yes, the only gear that is different is the skates, now adays everyone uses roller blades.

You can use you ice gear just fine.
The only real difference between the two is going to be the weight, and ventilation. Ice hockey pucks are harder, and heavier, so you need a bit more protection, thus a bit more weight, too. Roller pucks are a bit lighter, and the rinks are usually a lot warmer, so you need lighter weight, and more ventilation.
You won't use socks, either, you wear pants tha go over a light weight girdle with pads, as well as covering your shin pads. So, your shin pads will need to have better straps to keep them in place. Some guys use tape over the pant legs to do this, but I don't like it, it feels weird to me.
I have seen guys use either, so it is really personal preference. Having said that though, most all of the good players will use roller specific stuff. It is just better to be as light and comfortable as you can, I think.
Of course you won't be able to use your skates, so I reccommend going to an online outfit to get them. You can usually find a good deal on last year's model skates there. Hockey Monkey, is one, and Hockey Giant, and there are several others.
