You are not going to gain much by only running once each week.
Studies have shown that you must run 3 times each week for at least 20 minutes to do any cardiovascular conditioning.

Running can help your muscles a little.
It is not bad for you so if that is all you can do then continue to do something, which is always better than nothing.

I think it can be done ... some people say it only takes 20 minutes for a run, but they forget dressing/changing, showering etc. So the overhead of a 20 min run is quite a lot.

On the other hand, once per week is not much. I started training with three times per week for a marathon but reduced to two times per week and succeeded (time 4:18:59 and ended with a good feeling).

If you run only once but your goal is 5 or 10 km, build up slowly and concentrate on distance instead of speed.

Yeh exercise is about lifestyle and balance, not something to get out of the way. If you are not committed then is it worth going for a run and maybe getting hit by a car... Just trying to highlight the pointlessness of running once a week... Maybe start with walking... thats easier to do at those times of the day when you are procrastinating!

Good - you are doing something ! Since you don't have as much time, you can do other creative things such as: Park your car as far away from the store as possible in the parking lot, from work, or school and walk the extra distance. When you need a break take a short walk once around the office or building. Don't take elevators, take stairs. This all adds up.

It depends, if you want to be a serious runner, then no. You would need to run at least 3 or 4 times a week, practicing sprints, and lifting weights.
If it's just to keep in shape, I guess it's ok, but still not the best.

It's better to run regularly a few times a week than it is to run once. Run 3 times a week for shorter distance than you do on your once a week run.

Well at least its better than not running at all , but i would say that if your a person who likes running you should rearange your schedule so you can do a couple of times a week. good luck

it's better than nothing, but running can be harmful if you're not exercising the knees, hips, feet to keep your joints healthy, flexible and strong.

saying that you don't have enough time to exercise even just twenty minutes per day is an excuse and excuses are effective at keeping us out of shape.

so fight for your excuses, or get over your fear

Once a week isn't enough, you need to do it every other day, that way you won't be breaking your rhythm
