I am fairly nauseated by the phony machismo displayed by the Red Sox organization and fans (clapping during game1)over the last few days. Is it just me or is sh*t talking and showboating at an all time high? The fact that the Sox fans can overlook the fact that Manny Ramirez, Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, and Jon Papelbon are such horrible people in their hunger for a world championship has brought into question my appreciation for the game itself. They are a group of seasoned veterans that are beating up on a group of 20 year olds, and doing it with the least grace and respect of any championship team in world series history. It is like watching a snuff film. It is a sad commentary on our society when a team chooses to win in this way. You may hate the Yankees for winning all those years, but the amount of fist pumps and pitcher yells and the like was at a minimum. Joe Torre instilled a sense of respect for the game. You just didn't behave like that.

I think so, and Beckett, Schilling and Papelbon are total scumbags.

Geez, sorry for clapping when our team is winning. What horrible people we are. It's not like every other sports team's fans do it. Also sorry that Manny, Schilling, Beckett and Papelbon want to win the World Series. Maybe that's why they're mowing down the competition again, because they want it more than they do. That's probably why the loser Yankees lost in the first round of the playoffs too.

Seasoned veterans? I had no idea Pedroia and Papelbon are seasoned veterans. I also had no idea Matt Holliday was a fresh faced rookie, he's only played 550+ career games.

Lastly, if all the National League can offer us for competition is, as you think they are, a bunch of rookies, then the NL needs to shape up.

I'm getting really tired of you JEALOUS, BITTER Yank-me fans whining about the Red Sox winning.

PS- Red Sox players have something NO ONE in the Yankees organization does, thanks to Steinbrenner- personality. The Red Sox are the PATRIOTS of baseball. Unlike the Raiders, the Sox actually win championships.

WHHAAAAA! Sour grapes pal. Grow up, the RED SOX ARE the best team in baseball because they were built by the franchise to BE the best team in baseball. Spin it all you want but the reality of it is the team and the players do more charity work and help the community more than just about sports franchise I've ever seen. 365 days a year players are available to the DANA FARBER cancer institue and the SOX have raised over a billion dollars for pediatric cancer research among dozens of other charitys. Josh Beckett, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, Johathan Papelbon, David Ortiz, Curt Schilling, Mike Timlin and quite a few others all have charity events they organize for the community along with huge time & money donations. You are pathetic loser who judges these people on what? The fact that they play IN THE WORLD SERIES of all things, with a ton of passion & emotion? Who would care about this team if they didn't always leave it all on the field!

The reality of it is no one celebrates more prematurely than the NY YANKEES & their fans. They celebated before they won the ALCS in 2004 with a Quote from Garry Sheffield saying he knew the RED SOX weren't good enough to beat the YANKEES all along. Or, how about that spoiled ***** Derek Jeter when he was asked what he though about losing to the RED SOX in the '04 ALCS and their going to the world series. Derek Jeter says: "I hope they get swept"...classic sore loser!
Just like You....DOUCHE BAG!

Do you have to get extra salt in your diet to make up for all the salt you lose when you cry all day long? And some midol should help that cramping.

How a 2 to 1 pitching duel compares to a snuff film is really pretty absurd. I enjoy hyperbole as much as the next person, but you really are a bit over the top, even by my standards.

Your casting of the big, bullying Red Sox versus the poor, scrappy Rockies is partly true, but played up to the point of insulting the Rockies. The Red Sox are winning on experience, like they did with Cleveland, but game one blow-out aside, no smart baseball fan would assert that the Rockies are hopelessly over-matched. They are a very solid team, well-managed and Matt Halliday is probably the best all-around player participating in this series. But sometimes the Red Sox get hot and really do seem like they can't lose. Just like the Rockies had done until recently. Just like the Yankees were for most of the second half. Great teams are like that--they go on streaks and look invinsible, but often as not another great team brings them to Earth. If the Sox can manage to get back to Boston up 3-2, I will say the Series has been gone as well as could have been hoped for.

But to be honest, the Red Sox (and Patriots) and their fans are casting ourselves as swaggering, cocky winners. It is quite fun and we are enjoying it so much that we really don't care if the rest of the country is annoyed.

Obviously you do not follow baseball. First of all, why would you not have guys that yearn for the championship on yourteam, The Red Sox are easily the best team in baseball, but Colorado is NOT a bunch of 20 year olds, their avg age
is higher than Bostons, by the way.

Do you expect the players not to celebrate a win. I'm pretty sure no team would go easy on an opponent just to be nice. You have no point here. Maybe the Sox should throw the next 4 games. Would that make you happy? Players want nothing more than to get to the World Series. Of course their going to be happy when they win. Last nights game was a one run game.

again I am not a red sox fan but get serious... why can't you have emotion when you play??
and yeah when your team hasnt won in 86 years and now they are poised to win their 2nd WS in 4 years... they deserve to show emotion...
and for all the respect Torre showed all those years(I have high respect myself for Torre but not for the Yankee organization), he was pissed on heavily by his employer last week... the man should have laughed at all of those losers--- the sons aren't much better--- and simply walked away from the organization the day after they lost the series to the Indians... but again the man had respect for his players and did not want to be perceived as walking out on them...
Also, Oakland hasn't won a SB in how many years? Hardly a team that the Red Sox can be compared to...
