Some people say that Michael Jordan had crazy hang time, and that vertical does not necessarily determine hang time. Is that true? If two players both have 36" vertical, will they have the same hang time?

After seeing USA/Mexico put forth a subpar effort against modest, to below-modest oppostion in the CONCACAF region Gold Cup, how do you think they will fare against much tougher competition in the CONEMBOL Copa America next week?

To every Canadian here.. just wanted to say that Canada was so close to the final, and considering where Canada is ranked in FIFA's rankings and where the USA is ranked, I'd say Canada played a pretty damn good game. Don't worry though, within a few years Canada will be great... the team is rapidly becoming really good.

Congrats to Americans though... but Canadians, don't forget - Canada will make it through next time! :)

I had the ninth (out of twelve) overall pick in teh draft, which took place yesterday.

I think I did incredibly well. But what do you guys think?

Here's my team:

_______________________________

QB:
Matt Leinart
Phillip Rivers

RB:
Cedric Benson
Joseph Addai
Adrian Peterson (Vikings)

WR:
Marvin Harrison
Santonio Holmes
Reggie Wayne

TE:
Marcus Pollard
Jeremy Shockey

K:
Jason Hanson
Robbie Gould

Defense and Special Teams:
DST, Chargers
DST, 49ers

_______________________________

It's a 12 team, NFL.com league, where we can start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, and 1 DST.

I think I have a great team considering what pick I had. The only problem I'm going to have to address, is that all three of my WR's have their bye week on week 6.

But I should be able to solve that by playing the wavier wire before week 6, and pick up a few WR's.

Ok, all you fantasy football gurus.

Rate and comment (comments/suggestions/advice) on my team!

All below salaries are based on what they get for the 2007 season.

Daisuke Matsuzaka so far this year:
8-5 with a 4.18 ERA, $6,333,333

Just picture this from guys right above and below him in ERA:
Chuck James (my boy) is 6-6 with a 4.11 ERA, $397,500
Tim Wakefield (your boy) is 7-7 with a 4.18 ERA $4,000,000

Okay now let's pit him against the best pitcher in baseball Jake Peavy (it's my opinion) - I would pick Smoltz but I must remain unbiased:
Peavy is 9-1 with a 1.98 ERA and a $4,750,000 price tag

If you want an AL comparison then let's take Dan Haren:
9-2 with a 1.78 ERA and a salary of 2,250,000

Just add on the rights to talk to that guy and my goodness, the per season salary he really costs is astounding for what you are getting in performance. I was expecting more of a 1995 Hideo Nomo and it's more like 1998 Hideki Irabu. Gosh it makes the Yankees deal for him look great in comparison. WHOA!!!

Granted, I know that it is still kind of early in the season for any series to be "huge". But, at the same time, I believe it will play a part in the race for 1st place. Both teams are tied for 1st. Cleveland is playing a team that even the whiney sux could beat, while Detroit is playing a team that is hard to beat.
I think Cleveland will sweep and Detroit could possibly take 2 of 3....putting The Tigers 1 game out. And with Cleveland coming to Comerica Park during the 4th of July week...it will be interesting--and THAT SERIES will be huge! Your thoughts? Indians fans are welcome--as I would love to hear what you think and say.

How is my team?

QB- Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Leinart
WR- Calvin Johnson
WR- Hines Ward, Marty Booker
WR- Plaxico Burress, Bernard Berrian
RB- Willie Parker, Marion Barber III
RB- Thomas Jones
TE- Vernon Davis, Heath Miller
K- Shayne Graham
DEF- PIT, JAC

Should I start Barber instead of Jones, and should I start Berrian instead of Ward (I know how these QB/WR from the same team things don't work out too well)?

I'm the biggest Flames fan ever and i'm very excited about the hiring of Keenan. Playfair was too much of a softy and i know the players will respect keenan. So what do they need?

They have a gritty defensive core in stuart, regehr, aucoin and phaneuf. They have three good centers in langkow, conroy and the speedy matthew lombardi. So what's missing? Or maybe keenan was the last piece of the puzzle??

He did admit to you people who said that he didn't and there was no proof. Steriods also help oyu because people that get fatigued easily loose stamina. When and if Barry Bonds brakes the record he won't have many people cheering for him.

He is like 6 '3. 210 pounds. Looks like a beast (in a good way)
You will expect a player like that to be like Gattuso, or Japp Stam but he is just NOT living up to expectations.
He has probably caused more penalties with his handballs and he gave up a goal against Canada yesterday (though it wasn't counted)

I will like your thoughts on him, will he bring IT against Mexico on Sunday?
By the way, I don't feel like US will win the game on Sunday let alone maintain a clean sheet. *wimpers*
Someone please tell me I'm wrong!!!!!
