After seeing USA/Mexico put forth a subpar effort against modest, to below-modest oppostion in the CONCACAF region Gold Cup, how do you think they will fare against much tougher competition in the CONEMBOL Copa America next week?

If they play like this in the Copa America.....they will both be gone in the first round.....committing to many mistakes and not finishing is a huge problem.

USA is in a tough group......Argentina...one of the best in the world....Colombia who has surprisingly played really well in the last friendlies I have seen....and Paraguay....and alright team but can compete against the US.

Mexico....will be playing a talented Brazilian side.....Ecuador can beat Mexico...but should be a good tight game....Chile is a young team....but ain't a walk in the park....

So they both will have their hands full.....USA can possible sneak in to the second round as one of the best 3rd place teams......I could see Mexico finishing second or third in their group....

I Don't know because both teams have tougher teams than Canada Guatemala etc.
cause USA's first game against Argentina(Vamos Argentina)
might not be good for their points and the place in the group

Mexico has to play against Brazil in their first game so they dont have such good luck either.

Mexico doesn't stand a chance in the Copa America because the suck.
but USA is a good team and might come out in 2nd place in the group.

The warm up from copa oro would definitely come in handy to make adjustments .Mexico would have Rafa in defense , so that would be a huge advantage since his absence from the copa oro has expose some holes in their defense. USA has played well so far hopefully the level of their game would go up when they face the tougher teams. They would both do well if they improve their level of play.

Going to be a tough run for both in that Tourney I suspect. The US is not even brining a complete A squad since they are just finishing up the Gold Cup, Have a couple of guys in the U-20 Worlds and MLS is in full season.

They will both do well, they tend to play to the level of competition they are facing that day. I think they will both step it up and upset a few teams. The question is, did Dunga's tinkering of Brazil hurt their chances of winning it?

USA has been playing very well. However, they are fielding a very young squad, so don't expect them to win it all. I do think that they will make a good showing.
