Canadians - We were so close :(?

To every Canadian here.. just wanted to say that Canada was so close to the final, and considering where Canada is ranked in FIFA's rankings and where the USA is ranked, I'd say Canada played a pretty damn good game. Don't worry though, within a few years Canada will be great... the team is rapidly becoming really good.

Congrats to Americans though... but Canadians, don't forget - Canada will make it through next time! :)

Frihah - I'm Portuguese (and Brasilian technically, for living there for a few years) but I moved to Canada a few months ago.

As for the wrong call.. well, no comment. But I say Canada will get it next time, and with the U20s.. I hope Canada proves they are worthy of being in it :)

I know. I am so proud of Canada, they were just so damn close to making it to the finals. If we had made it...who knows we could have won.

Some time back, I was frustrated that they weren't getting anywhere in football, but now I'm just so happy to see that they are improving more and more. In the end, sometimes that is all that matters, to see your country trying their best and improving. I'm confident that in a few years, we'll be able to see Canada qualify for the WC, if they keep improving at the pace they are now.

And also for them to have made it this far, is also great as well.

Personally, I didn't think the match with canada was going to be easy, I remember you gave us a tough time last gold cup. And the reality is, the offside call at the end was wrong. If the ref had called it right, Canada may have advanced, esp. considering we had a player sent off (for an unbelievably stupid play).

But thanks for not whining like other canadians have heere at Y!A about the bad call, the reality is the scoreboard said 2-1 when all was said and done. Thanks for wishing us well too. I wouldn't be surprised if both the US and Canada qualified for WC 2010.

yea it was a good game and i saw it LIVE it was funny because the whole stadium was cheering for canada not because there were a lot of canadians but because there were a lot of mexicans wanting canada to beat the us it was funny because me and my friend were predicting scores before the games and he said us 2-1 and i said canada will tie the game in the last second of the game for a 2-2 score wierd how i was almost right huh

Yeah...I was rooting for Canada.The offside in the last minute was bogus.The USA player deflected the ball to the Canadian player.Better luck next time.

I think Canada had a great showing... in time Mexico and the US will think twice about qualifying for the WC out of CONCACAF

Yeah . . . we were really close . . . but we were robbed in that match. It wasn't an offside goal

But I think that, with the U-20 World Cup in the summer being hosted in Canada, we've generated new interest in football . . . we might be getting better ;)
