It has branches, it has lights. seems similar to me.
Unless of course it is a prototype of a festivus pole.

It looks like atheism or any other secular thought in Western world is dominated exclusively by hardcore leftists, whom I despise with passion. I wonder if conservative/libertarian atheists are going to be politically active any soon. Or we will be suffocated to death by either secular left or religious right?

"Because we can neither prove nor disprove a (Christian) god, we might as well believe in him to help avoid the threat of hell"

Basically the philosophy that you're better safe than sorry as far as religion goes.

Who came up with this theory? What is the theory called? I know it's a man's name, but I just can't remember.

Here some aspects.

Before the start of Mahabharat war both Arjuna and
Duryodhana representing Pandavas and Kauravas went to
Lord Krishna seeking help.

Lord Krishna gave two choices.

1. The help of the Lord himself, but unarmed and
without fighting in the war.

2. The Mighty Devastating Military Forces (Narayan
Sena) of the Lord for the other.

He gave the preference to Arjuna for choosing the
option and Arjuna chose the first option for the
unarmed Lord Himself.

It that not sanctimony and hypocrisy?

Aside from proof has it ever dawned on some of you that acceptance of your god does not come that easily?
This is a serious question stemmed out of the numerous thumbs down many atheists received for saying they would not bow down to the Christian god even if he was proven to exist.
I just want some feed back why when someone is honest on saying that they "woul not accept" this god they get thumbs down.

If you really knew God exist what would be the need for faith. Seems like you`re a little insecure on the concept. Are you willing to admit that if your belief in God rests on faith then you`re an agnostic on Gods existence?

Seems only fair if you really don't have any faith at all, it shouldn't matter to you. If you don't want to be hypocritical. I am betting a lot of you who claim to be athiest and slam Christians on Y.A. join right in on the festivities.

OK let the fireworks begin.

I work with several Jehovah's Witnesses at work and have noticed several odd things about them at work such as they don't celebrate holidays, have arranged marriages, and do not allowed blood transfusions.

Please do not use this opportunity to bash this group; I am truly interested in these questions and want to learn more about them so we can work more efficiently.

If in Australia, there has been found a fossilized miners hat,
and the bones of a horse that went missing on Kangaroo Island 50 years ago, that fell down a cave,

then that has shot the theoretical discussion to peices

What say you then?

does one investigate for the truth

A) ask the pertient q's on

B) seek out the SOURCE of the so called facts and do not go by the Litany of the knee jerking reactionists
